21. III-V Nanowire Solar Cells: Growth and Characterization
Sammanfattning : To mitigate dangerous climate change, a transition to a new and sustainable energy system is needed. In this system, solar energy will need to be a key player. Prices of electricity made from solar cells have declined rapidly over the recent decades, making solar energy competitive in more markets. LÄS MER
22. Spatial Characterization of Multi-element Antennas
Sammanfattning : The overall goal of the current thesis is to establish some bases for understanding and characterization of multi-port antennas in a rich multipath environment. Multi-port antennas are the inevitable keystone of multiple input and multiple output wireless communication systems. LÄS MER
23. Building Systems for Electronic Probing of Single Low Dimensional Nano-objects : Application to Molecular Electronics and Defect Induced Graphene
Sammanfattning : Nano-objects have unique properties due to their sizes, shapes and structure. When electronic properties of such nano-objects are used to build devices, the control of interfaces at atomic level is required. LÄS MER
24. Optical properties of silver nanostructures prepared by electron beam lithography
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, electron beam lithography (EBL) has been used to fabricate substrates for studies of nanoparticle optics, in particular for the investigation of noble metal nanoparticles and their tunable optical properties. The strong interaction of metal nanoparticles with light has its origin in the resonant excitation of collective oscillations of conduction electrons, so called localized surface plasmons (LSP). 25. Characterization of Surfaces Relevant to Nanotechnology
Sammanfattning : In this thesis investigations of the structure and dynamics of semiconductor surfaces relevant for the synthesis of nanostructures are presented. The studies were performed using Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED), and Spectroscopic PhotoEmission and Low Energy Electron Microcopy (SPELEEM). LÄS MER
