    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; altitude training; athlete monitoring; athlete testing; biathlon; endurance exercise; epidemiology; illness; injury; metabolic profiling; metabolomics; Nordic skiing; performance development; winter sports; epidemiologi; fysiologiska tester; höghöjdträning; längdåkning; metabolisk profilering; metabolomics; monitorering; prestationsutveckling; sjukdom; skador; skidskytte; uthållighetsträning; vintersport;

    Sammanfattning : Competitive cross-country (XC) ski athletes (defined hereafter as XC skiers and biathletes combined) are vulnerable to developing various health-related symptoms and conditions due to several factors, such as high physiological and psychological demands, extreme competition and training environments, high training loads, demanding competition schedules, and frequent travel. On initiating this work, we (the author and supervisory team) were approached by the Swedish Ski Association (SSF) and the Swedish Biathlon Federation (SSSF) to investigate the relationships between training, racing, and health problems, with a specific focus on illnesses (rather than injuries), and an ultimate goal of improving future support practices and athletic performance. 2. 2. Analytical Methods For Sports Drugs: Challenges and Approaches

    Författare :Hatem Elmongy; Magnus Ericsson; Leopold Ilag; Mikael Hedeland; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sports Drugs; Doping in Sports; Steroids; LC-MS MS; Chiral analysis; high-resolution mass spectrometry; Sample preparation; Biological samples; solid phase extraction; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Drugs used to enhance human performance in sport competitions are prohibited by the world anti-doping association (WADA). Biological samples from athletes are continuously tested for adverse analytical findings regarding the identity and/or quantity of the banned substances. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Overtraining, staleness, and burnout in sports

    Författare :Göran Kenttä; Daniel Gould; Peter Hassmén; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Overtraining; overtraining syndrome; staleness; burnout; recovery; mood states; performance decrement; Idrottsträning; Utbrändhet; Idrottspsykologi; psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : Intense and frequently performed physical training can result in both adaptation and maladaptation often referred to as overtraining syndrome/ staleness or burnout depending on the severity of the condition. In Study I, a new conceptual model was presented generating a holistic understanding of both process and outcome; the concept of Total Quality Recovery was also developed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Position Estimation in Uncertain Radio Environments and Trajectory Learning

    Författare :Yuxin Zhao; Fredrik Gunnarsson; Fredrik Gustafsson; Carsten Fritsche; Henk Wymeersch; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : To infer the hidden states from the noisy observations and make predictions based on a set of input states and output observations are two challenging problems in many research areas. Examples of applications many include position estimation from various measurable radio signals in indoor environments, self-navigation for autonomous cars, modeling and predicting of the traffic flows, and flow pattern analysis for crowds of people.
