    Författare :Joel Gerafi; Hans Samuelsson; Tom Manly; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Visuospatial inattention; language impairment; long-term functional outcome; ischemic stroke; neglect; aphasia; lateralized inattention; processing speed; Consciousness and Cognitive Neuroscience; Kognitiv neurovetenskap och filosofi; visuospatial inattention; language impairment; long-term functional outcome; ischemic stroke; neglect; aphasia; lateralized inattention; processing speed;

    Sammanfattning : Impairments of visuospatial attention, language, and processing speed (PS) are common early after stroke and have been associated with unfavorable short-term functional outcomes but little is known about this relationship in the long-term. This thesis investigates 1) the potential importance of visuospatial inattention (VSI) and language impairments (LI) as predictors of functional outcomes 7 years after an ischemic stroke (studies I-II) and 2) presence of lateralized inattention 7 years after stroke and potential predictors of this phenomenon (study III). 2. 2. Long-term functional outcome after ischemic stroke: Prognostic value of early identification of neglect and aphasia

    Författare :Joel Gerafi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; visuospatial inattention; language impairment; long-term functional outcome; ischemic stroke; neglect; aphasia;

    Sammanfattning : Early symptoms of neglect and aphasia are often observed after ischemic stroke and have been associated with unfavorable short-term functional outcomes within one year post-stroke. However, there is a lack of studies with inclusion of both neglect and aphasia as potential predictors that have studied long-term functional outcomes exceeding one year after stroke. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The importance of lateralized and nonlateralized sub-symptoms of visuospatial neglect as predictors of functional outcome after stroke

  4. 4. Behavioural Principles for the Design of Human-Centred Cognitive Technologies : The Case of Visuo-Locomotive Experience

    Författare :Vasiliki Kondyli; Mehul Bhatt; Lars Karlsson; Maithilee Kunda; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The successful application, usability, and social emancipation of AI technologies necessitates that the design and implementation of technical systems be founded on human-centred principles, be it cognitive or behavioural, social, ethical etc. Towards this objective, this thesis develops an interdisciplinary methodology for embedding cognitive behavioural principles in the design and development of next-generation human-centred AI technologies that aim to assist and empower humans in everyday life. 5. 5. Getting up when falling down : reducing fall risk factors after stroke through an exercise program

    Författare :Eva Holmgren; Per Wester; Britta Lindström; Gunilla Gosman-Hedström; Birgitta Lindmark; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ADL; Balance; Depression; Exercise; Falls; Falls-efficacy; Gait; Health-related Quality of Life; Lifestyle Activities; Physiotherapy; Prevention; Rehabilitation; Stroke; Variability.; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to identify fall risk individuals (+55) after stroke by validating a fall risk index and in post-stroke individuals with high risk of falls evaluate the impact of an intervention program on fall risk factors.A previously developed fall risk index was validated, modified and re-validated.
