    Författare :Anu S. Helin; Jonas Waldenström; Edwin Veldhuizen; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Avian β-defensins AvBDs ; Avian gene expression; Host-pathogen interactions; Innate immunity; Mallard Anas platyrhynchos ; Myxovirus resistance gene Mx ; Retinoic acid inducible gene 1 RIG-I ; Avian β-defensins AvBD ; Genuttryck; Gräsand Anas platyrhynchos ; Immunförsvar; Immungener; Myxovirus resistant gene Mx ; Patogen; Retinoic acid inducible gene 1 RIG-I ; Ecology; Ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises two sections, both of which explore eco-immunology of the innate immune system of mallards (Anas platyrhynchos). The innate immune system serves a pivotal role as the first line of defense against invading pathogens, and is comprised of physical and chemical barriers. LÄS MER

  2. 2. ENHANCE YOUR WORKPLACE! A dialogue tool for workplace health promotion with a salutogenic approach

    Författare :Petra S Nilsson; Margareta Troein Töllborn; Allmänmedicin och samhällsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Salutogenesis; workplace health promotion; Sense of Coherence; Work Experience Measurement Scale; Specific Enhancing Resources; questionnaire process;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to develop and make a quality assessment of a tool, which includes a questionnaire and a dialogue process that could be useful for workplace health promotion from a salutogenic point of view. The studies have been performed within two health care organizations between 2005 and 2009, together with hospital staff. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Towards Safer and Risk-aware Motion Planning and Control for Robotic Systems

    Författare :Fernando S. Barbosa; Jana Tumova; Stephen Smith; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : Safety and risk-awareness are important properties for robotic systems, be it for protecting them from potentially dangerous internal states, or for avoiding collisions with obstacles and environmental hazards in disaster scenarios. Ensuring safety may be the role of more than one algorithmic layer in a system, each with varying assumptions and guarantees. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Utilizing CO2 from biomethane production : Sustainability and climate performance

    Författare :Stephanie S. Cordova; Mats Eklund; Marcus Gustafsson; Niclas Svensson; Valentina Bisinella; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomethane; Carbon capture and utilization; CCU; CO₂ utilization;

    Sammanfattning : Biogas solutions offer many benefits for the environment and society, including organic waste treatment as well as being an enabler for energy and nutrient recovery. The products of anaerobic digestion are a biogas, which contains a share of 30 to 50% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 50 to 70% methane, and a liquid remanent, rich in nutrients. LÄS MER
