    Sammanfattning : In this work, the solubility of butyl paraben in 7 pure solvents and in 5 different ethanol-water mixtures has been determined from 1 ˚C to 50 ˚C. The solubility of ethyl paraben and propyl paraben in various solvents has been determined at 10 ˚C. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Information Thermodynamics and Fluctuations in Quantum Dots

    Författare :David Barker; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stochastic thermodynamics; Maxwell s demon; quantum dot; charge sensing; information; feedback; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Barker;

    Sammanfattning : In small systems with large fluctuations, the classical description of thermodynamics is no longer sufficient which has led to the development of stochastic thermodynamics. One important result from stochastic thermodynamics is that with measurement and feedback it is possible to use those fluctuations to extract work from a single heat bath coupled to the system. 3. 3. A General Formalism for Continuous Feedback Control in Quantum Systems

    Författare :Björn Annby-Andersson; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; quantum measurements; quantum control; stochastic thermodynamics; information thermodynamics; full count- ing statistics; open quantum systems; Quantum measurements; Quantum control; Stochastic thermodynamics; Information thermodynamics; Full counting statistics; Open quantum systems;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis devolops a general formalism for continuous feedback control in quantum systems. The main result is a quantum Fokker-Planck master equation describing the joint dynamics of a quantum system and a detector with finite bandwidth. For a fast detector, this equation can be reduced to a Markovian master equation for the system dynamics. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A Serendipitous Journey through Stochastic Processes

    Författare :Ludovico Theo Giorgini; John S Wettlaufer; Valerio Lucarini; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Stochastic process; statistical physics; machine learning; Theoretical Physics; teoretisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : In this PhD thesis we will present some new insights in different problems in the field of stochastic processes. A stochastic resonance system is studied using path integral techniques, originally developed in quantum field theory, to recover the optimal means through which noise self-organises before a rare transition from one potential well to the other. 5. 5. Full Cycle Engine Simulations with Detailed Chemistry

    Författare :Adina Gogan; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; plasmas; Gaser; Gases; fluid dynamics; aktuariematematik; programmering; operationsanalys; Statistik; actuarial mathematics; programming; operations research; Statistics; detailed kinetics; emissions; engine knock; autoignition; modeling; spark ignition engine; diesel engine; fluiddynamik; plasma; Technological sciences; Teknik; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; stochastic reactor model;

    Sammanfattning : The modeling work developed in this thesis can be divided in two main areas of investigations: autoignition related to spark ignition engine and combustion and emissions formation in relation to diesel engines. A first version of a detailed kinetics engine simulation program, extended to handle full cycle calculations, was employed in order to demonstrate the strong effect that nitric oxide from the residual gas has on the autoignition onset.
