21. Anticoagulants in kidney disease
Sammanfattning : Background: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and atrial fibrillation (AF) are at high risk of ischemic stroke. Evidence is lacking if patients with advanced CKD or on dialysis benefit from oral anticoagulants (OAC) as stroke prophylaxis. LÄS MER
22. Hemodynamics, echocardiography, and biomarkers in different heart failure phenotypes
Sammanfattning : Background. Heart failure (HF) is a major health problem affecting millions of patients worldwide and is associated with impaired quality of life and poor prognosis. Different approaches including invasive and non-invasive methods can be used to provide information about the cardiac performance in HF patients. LÄS MER
23. Identification of the common eliminated region (CER1) by the microcell hybrid based 'elimination test'
Sammanfattning : The aim of elimination test (Et) is to identify tumor antagonizing genes from chromosome regions that are regularly deleted in microcell hybrid (MCH) derived tumors through serial SCID mice passages. Et so far was focused on the short arm of human chromosome 3 (chr 3) due to its frequent deletions in 21 tumor types including renal cell carcinoma (RCC), small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) and breast cancer (BRC). 24. Participation in leisure activities of children and youths with and without disabilities
Sammanfattning : The World Health Organization (WHO) defines participation as a person’s involvement in a life situation, and to participate in leisure activities is one of the most important aspects of health and well-being. When a child is involved and engaged in a leisure activity, it gives the child a sense of belonging, opportunities to make friendships, and possibilities to develop physical and social competences and skills. 25. An Information-Theoretic Approach to Generalization Theory
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we investigate the in-distribution generalization of machine learning algorithms, focusing on establishing rigorous upper bounds on the generalization error. We depart from traditional complexity-based approaches by introducing and analyzing information-theoretic bounds that quantify the dependence between a learning algorithm and the training data.
