  1. 1. Development of methods for evaluation and optimization of chest tomosynthesis

    Författare :Angelica Svalkvist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Chest tomosynthesis; Evaluation; Optimization; Simulation; Image Quality; Dosimetry; Dose reduction; Nodule simulation; Validation;

    Sammanfattning : Tomosynthesis is a low-dose technique that has attracted increasing interest from the medical imaging community during the past decade. Tomosynthesis refers to the technique of acquiring a number of projection radiographs using extremely low exposure over a limited angular range, and using these radiographs to reconstruct slices of the imaged object.     Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Volume changes; Solidification; Peritectic steel; Micro- and Macro-shrinkage; LVDT; GCI; NCI; Hypo- and Hypereutectic; Austenite; DTA; Dilatometry; BSE; Nuclei; Flake graphite; SDAS; Eutectic cells; Undercooled graphite; Simulation; Cooling rate; Microsegregation; austenite; Metastable region; δ-ferrite; Stable phase diagram; Grain refinement; Strain.; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis work deals with the volume changes during the solidification of cast irons and peritectic steels. The volume changes in casting metals are related to the expansion and/or contraction of the molten metal during solidification. Often, different types of shrinkage, namely macro- and micro-shrinkage, affect the casting quality. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On the mechanisms of structure formation in nodular cast iron

    Författare :Magnus Wessén; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The mechanisms of structure formation in nodular cast ironhave been examined by experiments and by physical modelling. Byincorporation of models for nucleation and growth for allrelevant phases into a heat flow calculation. it is possible topredict the as-cast structure by computer simulation. LÄS MER
