26. Lithium iron phosphates as cathode materials in lithium batteries
Sammanfattning : Iron-based oxides are perhaps the only realistic cathode materials for electric and electric-hybrid vehicle applications. Two types of lithium iron phosphate, LiFePO4 andR-Li3Fe2(PO4)3, have been investigated for use within the lithium/lithium-ion polymer batteryconcept. LÄS MER
27. Prussian blue analogue copper hexacyanoferrate : Synthesis, structure characterization and its applications as battery electrode and CO2 adsorbent
Sammanfattning : Prussian blue (PB) and Prussian blue analogues (PBAs) are compounds with potential applications in a large variety of fields such as gas storage, poison antidotes, electrochromism, electrochemistry and molecular magnets. The compounds are easy to synthesize, cheap, environmentally friendly and have been pursued for both fundamental research and industrial purposes. LÄS MER
28. Properties of Fe/ZnSe Heterostructures : A Step Towards Semiconductor Spintronics
Sammanfattning : In the present thesis, the properties at ferromagnet/semiconductor interfaces, relevant for semiconductor spintronics applications, are addressed. Semiconductor spintronics refers to the possibility of storing information using the electron spin, additional to the electron charge, for enhanced flexibility in nanoscale semiconductor devices. 29. Design and Characterisation of new Anode Materials for Lithium-Ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : Reliable ways of storing energy are crucial to support our modern way of life; lithium-ion batteries provide an attractive solution. The constant demand for higher energy density, thinner, lighter and even more mechanically flexible batteries has motivated research into new battery materials. Some of these will be explored in this thesis. LÄS MER
30. Dinuclear metal complexes modelling active sites of metallohydrolases
Sammanfattning : To study the active sites of dinuclear metallohydrolases new metal complexes that model these sites both in structure and function have been synthesized using two new phenol based dinucleating ligands, 2-(N-isopropyl-N-((2-pyridyl)methyl)aminomethyl)-6-(N-(carboxylmethyl)-N-((2-pyridyl)methyl)aminomethyl)-4-methylphenol (IPCPMP) and 2,6-Bis[N-(N-(carboxymethyl)-N-(pyridylmethyl)amine)methyl]-4-methylphenolate (BCPMP). Both ligands contain pyridyl, tertiary amine and carboxylate groups but in IPCPMP one carboxylate donor is exchanged for a non-coordinating group yielding an unsymmetric ligand while BCPMP is symmetric with identical sets of ligands on either side of the phenol group.
