11. New strategies for characterizing Prussian blue analogues
Sammanfattning : Prussian blue analogues (PBAs), AxM[M’(CN)6]1–y·zH2O, are used in many different applications, such as energy storage, due to their tunable composition and structural diversity. To understand the material properties, it is important to accurately determine the composition and atomic structure of these materials. LÄS MER
12. Tin-based Glasses: Structure and Electrochemical Properties
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents an investigation of microscopic structure and electrochemical properties, and their relationship, for various tin-based borate, phosphate and borophosphate glasses. Tin-based glasses have attracted a lot of scientific interest as anode materials in Li-ion batteries. LÄS MER
13. The electronic structure of iron compounds studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes Mossbauer measurements on iron compounds in the temperature range 4.2-550 Kelvin. The experimentally obtained isomer shifts and quadrupole splittings have given information about the electronic structure of the central iron atom. A large part of the thesis deals with iron compounds that are of catalytic interest. LÄS MER
14. Proterozoic to Quaternary Events of Fracture Mineralisation and Oxidation in SE Sweden
Sammanfattning : Fracture minerals and altered wall rock have been analysed to reveal the low-temperature evolution, especially regarding redox conditions, of the Simpevarp area, SE Sweden. This area is one of the two areas in Sweden investigated by the Swedish Nuclear fuel and Waste Management Co. LÄS MER
15. Methods and some applications of depth selective conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Depth selective conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy (DCEMS) is a method by which it is possible to non-destructively study iron containing surfaces in the region 0-1000 Ä using the Mössbauer effect. The parameters whose depth behavior can be determined are the familiar Mössbauer parameters: chemical shifts, magnetic hyperfine and quadrupole splitting. LÄS MER
