  1. 1. The effect of dissolved hydrogen on spent nuclear fuel corrosion

    Författare :Patrik Fors; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; alpha-doped; Nuclear waste repository; Hydrogen; Solubility; Corrosion; UO2; MOX; Spent nuclear fuel; High burn-up; Groundwater;

    Sammanfattning : In case of a canister failure in a deep bedrock repository for nuclear fuel, the release of radiotoxic nuclides to the groundwater will depend on the chemical environment near the fuel surface.Due to the presence of large amounts of iron in the canister, hydrogen will be formed if the canister becomes groundwater flooded. 2. 2. Calculation and Measurement of the Neutron Emission Spectrum due to Thermonuclear and Higher-Order Reactions in Tokamak Plasmas

    Författare :Luigi Ballabio; Jef Ongena; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Applied Nuclear Physics; tillämpad kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : A series of analytic and numerical models have been developed for the prediction and interpretation of the energy spectrum of the neutron emission from thermonuclear deuteriumtritium (DT) plasmas. The main component of the neutron emission, due to reactions between thermal fuel ions, has been modeled as well as minority components due to the presence of fast (supra-thermal) ions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Development of Differential Die-Away Instrument for Characterization of Swedish Spent Nuclear Fuel

    Författare :Tomas Martinik; Sophie Grape; Peter Jansson; Göran Ericsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The Next Generation Safeguards Initiative Spent Fuel (NGSI-SF) project was established in 2009 by the U.S. Departmentof Energy with main objective to investigate, and potentially develop and test new technologies for spent nuclearfuel (SNF) characterization. LÄS MER
