    Sammanfattning : Chronic inflammation, induced by the use of tobacco and alcohol, or caused by infections has long been suggested to constitute a risk factor for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). The innate immunity is the first line of defense against pathogens, comprising physical and chemical barriers, anti-microbial peptides, pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) as well as different kinds of cells, including neutrophils.
