16. MRI Studies of the Fetal Brain and Cranium
Sammanfattning : Ultrasound is the primary modality for fetal imaging, but Magnetic Resonance Imaging nowadays has a valuable complementary role as it often reveals findings that alter pregnancy management. Knowledge on some clinically relevant areas of the normal fetal development is still lacking, and this was the aim of this project. LÄS MER
17. Model-based System Testing of Safety-Critical Embedded Software
Sammanfattning : System-level testing of safety-critical embedded systems is complex and costly. MBT has shown promising results in terms of fault detection effectiveness and efficiency of test generation and execution. However, the industrial adoption of MBT approaches is slow and limited to specific industries and domains. LÄS MER
18. Gravitational waves from primordial magnetic sources
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis gives an overview of modified gravity and primordial magnetic fields, bridged by gravitational waves (GWs) as a phenomenological probe of both sectors.First we derive the GW equation in a homogeneous and isotropic background from general relativity. LÄS MER
19. Why nothing matters : A tale of vacua in the early Universe
Sammanfattning : The paradigm of inflation – a period of accelerated expansion in the very early Universe – was introduced to give solutions to a number of problems encountered in Standard Big Bang cosmology. Additionally, due to its quantum nature, inflation is able to generate the necessary primordial inhomogeneity “seeds”, which eventually evolve into large-scale structures. LÄS MER
20. Assessing infection risk and evaluating prevention strategies in the era of HPV-vaccines
Sammanfattning : Aim: This thesis aims to provide a multidimensional assessment of infection risks and to evaluate strategies for HPV prevention including vaccination with quadrivalent HPV-vaccines, dose-level vaccine effectiveness and condom use in high STI risk situations. Methods: Multiple population-based registers and questionnaire responses provided data for this thesis. LÄS MER
