16. Membrane-Polymer Interactions in Lipid Vesicles
Sammanfattning : Membrane related biological processes are commonly investigated in artificial biomimetic experimental systems. One of the most versatile models is based upon giant unilamellar phospholipid vesicles (liposomes), which are artificially generated spherical lipid structures in an aqueous environment. LÄS MER
17. On self-efficacy and balance after stroke
Sammanfattning : The general aim of this work was to evaluate the outcome of specialised stroke rehabilitation and to examine the relation between both subjectively perceived and objectively assessed balance and impairments and some activity limitations. A further, integrated aim was to establish some psychometric properties and the usability of a newly developed Falls-Efficacy Scale, Swedish version (FES(S)) in stroke rehabilitation. LÄS MER
18. Lung mechanics in the aging lung and in acute lung injury. Studies based on sinusoidal flow modulation
Sammanfattning : Knowledge about lung mechanics is of interest in intensive care to adjust mechanical ventilation and in the lung laboratory for diagnostics and evaluation of patients with various kinds of respiratory diseases. In mechanical ventilation a single inspiratory elastic pressure-volume (Pel/V) curve is difficult to interpret due to continuing re-expansion of collapsed lung units over a large pressure interval. 19. Developing novel measures and treatments for gambling disorder
Sammanfattning : Background: While gambling is an activity that seems to have entertained humanity for millennia, it is less clear why problematic gambling behavior may persist despite obvious negative consequences, from a research and clinical perspective. With the introduction of the 5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM–5), gambling was equated with alcohol and drug use and labeled an addictive disorder, Gambling Disorder (GD). 20. Hybrid Integration of Active Bio-signal Cable with Intelligent Electrode : Steps toward Wearable Pervasive-Healthcare Applications
Sammanfattning : Personalized and pervasive healthcare help seamlessly integrate healthcare and wellness into people’s daily life, independent of time and space. With the developments in biomedical sensing technologies nowadays, silicon based integrated circuits have shown great advantages in terms of tiny physical size, and low power consumption. LÄS MER
