  1. 1. Drug Metabolites Formed by Cunninghamella Fungi : Mass Spectrometric Characterization and Production for use in Doping Control

    Författare :Axel Rydevik; Mikael Hedeland; Ulf Bondesson; David Cowan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cunninghamella blakesleeana; Cunninghamella elegans; Doping Control; Drug Metabolites; Glucuronide Production; Mass Spectrometry; Reactive Metabolites; Reference Material; Structural Characterization; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the in vitro production of drug metabolites using fungi of the Cunninghamella species. The metabolites were characterized with mainly liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry using ion-trap and quadrupole-time-of-flight instruments. A fungal in vitro model has several advantages e.g. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Metabolite Profiling of Drugs using Mass Spectrometry : Identification of analytical targets for doping control and improvements of the metabolite search process

    Författare :Malin Nilsson Broberg; Mikael Hedeland; Ulf Bondesson; Curt Pettersson; Börje Tidstedt; Peter Van Eenoo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mass spectrometry; UHPLC-HRMS; Doping control; Metabolite profile; SARM; Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator; MVDA; Microsomes; Experimental design; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Doping is defined as the use of prohibited substances or methods by the World Anti-Doping Agency and the aim with doping control analysis is to detect the use of these illicit substances or methods. Substances that are prohibited in human or equine sports have either a positive or negative impact on the performance. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Structural Determination of Drug Metabolites from Doping Classed Compounds Using Mass Spectrometry

    Författare :Annelie Hansson; Mikael Hedeland; Ulf Bondesson; Peter Hemmersbach; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mass spectrometry; UHPLC-MS MS; doping control; Cunninghamella elegans; selective androgen receptor modulator; SARM; andarine; ostarine; LGD-4033; roxadustat; HIF stabilizer; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Doping control in equine sports is important for a fair competition, but also to ensure the integrity of the betting system, as well as for animal welfare reasons. To detect the use of illicit compounds, screening for the parent compound is common. However, by using a metabolite as the analytical target instead, the detection time can be prolonged. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Synchrotron X-ray based characterization of technologically relevant III-V surfaces and nanostructures

    Författare :Andrea Troian; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; synchrotron radiation; III-V semiconductors; high-k oxides; passivation; doping; XPS; AP-XPS; SPEM; XRF; full field X-ray diffraction microscopy; Fysicumarkivet A:2019:Troian;

    Sammanfattning : Innovative design and materials are needed to satisfy the demand for efficient and scalable devices for electronic and opto-electronic applications, such as transistors, LEDs, and solar cells. Nanostructured III-V semiconductors are an appealing solution, combining the excellent functional properties of III-V materials with the flexibility typical of nanostructures, such as the nanowires (NWs) studied here. 5. 5. Chemically Modified Metal Oxide Nanostructures Electrodes for Sensing and Energy Conversion

    Författare :Sami Elhag; Omer Nour; Magnus Willander; Alberta Bonanni; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metal oxide nanostructures; mixed metal oxide nano-compound; low temperature wet-chemical growth; chemically modified electrode; doping; surfactant; potentiometric sensor; chemical sensor and photo-electrochemical activity;

    Sammanfattning : The goal of this thesis is the development of scalable, low cost synthesis of metal oxide nanostructures based electrodes and to correlate the chemical modifications with their energy conversion performance. Methods in energy conversion in this thesis have focused on two aspects; a potentiometric chemical sensor was used to determine the analytical concentration of some components of the analyte solution such as dopamine, glucose and glutamate molecules.
