1. Studies on cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 and 15-lipoxygenase-1 in lymphomas
Sammanfattning : Classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) is a malignant disorder with striking inflammatory features. Since cysteinyl leukotrienes (cysLTs) are potent inflammatory mediators it was of interest to study their potential role in the pathogenesis of cHL. LÄS MER

3. Studies on the formation of leukotriene C4 and lipoxins from leukotriene A4 in human platelets
Sammanfattning : Human platelets lack 5-lipoxygenase activity, but possess enzymatic capacity to transform the unstable epoxide leukotriene (LT)A4 to the potent inflammatory agent LTC4 and lipoxins, a group of trihydroxylated tetraene-containing eicosanoids, which recently have been suggested to have an anti-inflammatory role. A novel pathway for the formation of lipoxin (LX)A4 via platelet lipoxygenation of SS,6R-diHETE and 5S,6S-diHETE, enzymatic/non-enzymatic hydrolysis products of LTA4, was discovered in human platelets. 4. Leukotriene D4-induced signal transduction in human epithelial cells
Sammanfattning : Although the structures of the cysteinyl-leukotrienes have been known for almost twenty years, and their biological effects for almost sixty years, very little is known about the signaling propenies of these compounds. The aim of the present research was to further elucidate the components that are involved in the signaling mechanisms of leukotriene D4 (L TD4) in a human epithelial cell line. LÄS MER
5. Studies on 15-lipoxygenase in dendritic cells and leukotriene receptors in Hodgkin lymphoma
Sammanfattning : Classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) is histologically characterized by a minority of malignant cells, the so-called Hodgkin-Reed Sternberg (H-RS) cells, surrounded by inflammatory cells such as T lymphocytes, eosinophils, macrophages and mast cells. It is generally believed that various molecules released by the H-RS cells are of major importance in the pathophysiology of cHL. LÄS MER
