  1. 1. Freshwater methane and carbon dioxide fluxes : Spatio-temporal variability and an integrated assessment of lake and stream emissions in a catchment

    Författare :Sivakiruthika Natchimuthu; David Bastviken; Åsa Danielsson; Peter A. Raymond; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Lakes; streams; spatio-temporal variability; CH4 flux; CO2 flux; gas transfer velocity; Sjöar; vattendrag; rumsliga och tidsmässiga variationer; CH4-flöden; CO2-flöden; gasutbyteshastighet;

    Sammanfattning : Freshwater bodies such as lakes and streams release the greenhouse gases methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. Global freshwater CH4 and CO2 emissions have been estimated to be of a similar magnitude to the global land or ocean carbon sink, and are thus significant components of global carbon budgets. 2. 2. Effects of forest management on greenhouse gas fluxes in a boreal forest

    Författare :Patrik Vestin; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :Forest management; Greenhouse gas fluxes; Clear-cutting; Thinning; Stump harvesting; Selective cutting; Eddy-covariance; Flux-gradient; Greenhouse gas budgets; CO2; CH4; N2O;

    Sammanfattning : Forest ecosystems cover 31% of the terrestrial land area and store large amounts of carbon in biomass and in soils. The 2015 Paris Agreement recognizes the importance of sinks and reservoirs of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in forests and the importance of enhancing them through sustainable forest management policies. 3. 3. Forests and Greenhouse gases. Fluxes of CO2, CH4 and N2O from drained forests on organic soils

    Författare :Karin von Arnold; Leif Klemedtsson; Mats Nilsson; Björn Hånell; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Greenhouse gases; GHG; fluxes of CO2; CH4; drained forests; organic soils; Skogsbotanik; miljöaspekter; växthusgaser; Water in nature and society; Vatten i natur och samhälle;

    Sammanfattning : One of the largest environmental threats believed to be facing us today is global warming due to the accumulation of green house gases (GHG). The concentrations of GHG in the atmosphere are a result of the net strength of different sinks and sources. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Estimating the Air-Water Gas Transfer Velocity during Low Wind Conditions

    Författare :Sam Fredriksson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Air.sea gas exchange; Turbulence; Heat flux; Natural convection; Shear; Direct numerical simulations; Gas transfer velocity; IR; Flux-chambers;

    Sammanfattning : The abundances of atmospheric carbon dioxide, CO2, and methane, CH4, are increasing. These increases affect e.g., the global carbon cycle and the climate both regionally and globally. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mechanisms controlling air-sea gas exchange in the Baltic Sea

    Författare :Lucía Gutiérrez-Loza; Anna Rutgersson; Erik Sahlée; Marcus Wallin; John Prytherch; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Air-sea gas exchange; Baltic Sea; CO2 flux; methane flux;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon plays a major role in physical and biogeochemical processes in the atmosphere, the biosphere, and the ocean. CO2 and CH4 are two of the most common carbon-containing compounds in the atmosphere, also recognized as major greenhouse gases. LÄS MER
