  1. 21. Isotope-based constraints on sources and processing of black carbon, carbon monoxide, and brown carbon in South Asia

    Författare :Sanjeev Dasari; Örjan Gustafsson; August Andersson; Jos Lelieveld; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; South Asia; Air Pollution; Short-Lived Pollutants; Atmospheric Abundance; Model-Observation Mismatch; Radiocarbon; Stable Isotopes; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The highly populated South Asian region is facing rapid economic growth and urbanization. Here, both climate- and health-affecting atmospheric agents such as light-absorbing aerosols black carbon (BC) and brown carbon (BrC), trace gas carbon monoxide (CO), are often found in relatively high levels compared to in other regions. 2. 22. Arsenic in Alluvial Aquifers in the Meghna Basin, Southeastern Bangladesh : Hydrogeological and Geochemical Characterisation

    Författare :Md. Aziz Hasan; Prosun Bhattacharya; William Burgess; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Alluvial aquifer; groundwater; arsenic mobilisation; geology; Meghna basin; Bangladesh; Water engineering; Vattenteknik;

    Sammanfattning :  Elevated levels of arsenic (As) in Bangladesh groundwater has emerged as a massive calamity exposing a large population to the risk of As toxicity from drinking water sources and agricultural products. Holocene alluvial aquifers in the delta- and flood-plains of the Ganges-Brahmaputra- Meghna (GBM) river systems are severely affected by high levels of As in groundwater. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Ground beetle dynamics in intensively managed agricultural landscapes

    Författare :Erkki Palmu; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carabidae; species richness; species diversity; functional traits; body size; emergence; dispersal; stable isotopes; deuterium; oxygen; crop diversification; landscape heterogeneity; agricultural management;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I have focused on studying dynamics of ground beetle assemblages in intensively managed agricultural landscapes. By definition, the land cover of these landscapes is dominated by annually tilled farmland, comprising a range of different crop types, in the context of the southern Swedish province of Scania mostly winter wheat, spring barley, winter rapeseed, and sugar beets.
