   Sammanfattning : Background: Nearly 20% of Sweden’s population are immigrants and research has identified inequalities in mental health between certain immigrant groups and the native Swedish population. The role of social integration factors such as social capital, defined as: “features of social organization such as networks, norms, and social trust that facilitate coordination and cooperation for mutual benefit”, has been minimally explored in understanding differences in immigrant health.
