Sammanfattning : This study discusses the articulation of a form of ecological thought grounded in a postnatural aesthetics in twenty-first century long poems from Latin America. I argue that the relationship between poetry and ecology, as analyzed in Latin American ecopoetry, and particularly in the long poem of the 70s and 80s, needs to be supplemented with a postnatural framework, in order to theorize the articulations of ‛the living’ ‒assemblages between human and more-than-human worlds‒ in the contemporary long poem. The aim underlying them was twofold: to meet the demand for works which could be used for purposes of educadon, edification, and private worship but also to show that the vanacul-ars could be used to produce distinguished works written in accordance with the aesthetic ideals of Classical and Neo-Latin poetry. This thesis shows how higher education is presented in the novels, collections of short stories, and serialized stories for female readers published before the United States was involved in the First World War.
