  1. 1. Övertändning, backdraft och brandgasexplosion sett ur räddningstjänstens perspektiv

    Författare :Lars-Göran Bengtsson; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; warning signs; smoke gas explosion; flashover; backdraft;

    Sammanfattning : This report presents a detailed description of the phenomena flashover, backdraft and smoke gas explosion. The physical and chemical processes which are involved in these phenomena are thoroughly discussed. The report also describes a number of compartment fire scenarios which are believed to be the most common scenarios occurring in Sweden. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Lithium-ion Battery Safety - Assessment by Abuse Testing, Fluoride Gas Emissions and Fire Propagation

    Författare :Carl Fredrik Larsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fire; thermal runaway; gas emission; gas explosion; propagation; safety; abuse testing; Lithium-ion; cell case explosion; hydrogen fluoride;

    Sammanfattning : Lithium-ion batteries offer high energy and power densities as well as long life time but have a more narrow stability window compared to other battery types and contain reactive and flammable materials. In case of overheating the battery cell can release gas (vent) and, at temperatures of about 150-200 °C, a so called thermal runaway can occur, that is a rapid self-heated temperature increase which is typically accompanied with a large release of smoke and gas, fire and a potential cell case explosion or gas explosion. 3. 3. Evaluation and Mitigation of Industrial Fire Hazards

    Författare :Petra Andersson; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknik; Technological sciences; Effect of fires; Accidental release; Water mist; Halon replacement; Industrial Fire Hazards; Human burns; Smoke detektion;

    Sammanfattning : A tool suitable for conducting industrial fire and explosion hazard analysis is presented, together with an identification of weak links in the hazard evaluation chain. For some of the weak links additional research has been carried out. LÄS MER
