  1. 6. Behaviour under predation risk - antipredator strategies, behavioural syndromes and sex-specific responses in aquatic prey

    Författare :Sanna Harris; Biodiversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phenotypic integration; Poecilia reticulata; Asellus aquaticus; behavioural syndromes; chemical cues; predation; antipredator behaviour;

    Sammanfattning : In many natural ecosystems, predation is well recognized as a strong evolutionary force, and predator-mediated selection has been demonstrated to induce changes in prey morphology, life history and behaviour. In my thesis, I have focused on behavioural responses in aquatic prey under the risk of predation. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Investigation of Melt Pool Thermo-hydrodynamic Behaviour inLaser Beam Welding ofTi-6Al-4V through Numerical Simulation

    Författare :Seyyed Mohammad Ali Noori Rahim Abadi; Isabelle Choquet; Fredrik Sikström; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser beam welding; Beam shaping; Absorptivity; Conductionmode welding; Free surface deformation; Computational Fluid Dynamics; OpenFOAM.; Strålformning; Absorptivitet; Värmeledningssvetsning; Ytdeformation; Computational Fluid Dynamics; OpenFOAM.; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Laser is an efficient and widely used heat source in metal processing suchas welding and additive manufacturing. It has some great advantages compared to the other conventional heat sources like electron beam and arc namely: ability of handling complicated joint geometries and producing large components. 3. 8. Exploring Multidimensional Trust : Shaping Child-Robot Creative Collaborations in Education

    Författare :Natalia Calvo Barajas; Ginevra Castellano; Kerstin Fischer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; child-robot interaction; social robots; trust; educational robotics; creativity; children perception of robots; Computer Science with specialization in Human-Computer Interaction; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot människa-datorinteraktion;

    Sammanfattning : As trust plays a pivotal role in maintaining long-term interactions between children and robots, it is vital to comprehend how children conceptualise trust and the factors influencing their trust in robots. This thesis examines the impact of social robots' behaviours and attributes on children's trust, relationship formation, and task performance in collaborative educational scenarios. LÄS MER

  4. 9. The Relation between Serotonergic Biomarkers and Behaviour : – studies on human primates, non-human primates and transgenic mice

    Författare :Hanna-Linn Wargelius; Dan Larhammar; Lars Oreland; Claudia Fahlke; Elias Eriksson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Serotonin; MAO-A; 5-HTT; MAO-B; alcohol; ADHD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Medicin; Medicine; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Rationale: The serotonergic system is involved in the modulation of emotion and plays an important role for personality and vulnerability for psychiatric disorders. In the papers included in this thesis, we investigate three biological factors that have been studied in relation to psychiatric symptoms: Platelet monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) activity, and variations in the MAO-A and the serotonin transporter (5HTT) genes. 5. 10. Exploring health-seeking behaviour of disadvantaged populations in rural Bangladesh

    Författare :Syed Masud Ahmed; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Bangladesh; disadvantaged populations; health-seeking behaviour; health-system; self-care;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Improving ability of the health system to reach the poor/disadvantaged populations is important for health and essential to mitigate the income-erosion consequences of ill- health in Bangladesh. This study examined the health-seeking behaviour of some identified disadvantaged population groups, including the effect of poverty focused non-governmental development interventions. LÄS MER
