  1. 1. Logistic Time Requirements in Fast Sea Transportation Systems

    Författare :Thore E.W. Hagman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cycle time; high speed; terminal time; performance; sailing time; total time; fuel consumption; logistic time requirement; power demand;

    Sammanfattning : The dissertation deals with logistic time requirements in fast sea transportation systems and the benefit of the application of the total time definition. The transportation engineering approach, to create new transport systems with high effectiveness, high service levels and also with high resource utilisation, has to some extent gained acceptance in the transportation industry, but it has not been fully realised that the transport system and the traffic system are not identical and that by focusing on high performance of the traffic system no guarantee is given that the transport system will become effective. 2. 2. Design, Simulation and Characterization of Some Planar Lightwave Circuits

    Författare :Yaocheng Shi; Anand Srinivasan; Sailing He; Daniel Erni; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; planar lightwave circuit; waveguide; coupler; multimode interference; photonic crystal waveguide; de multiplexer; triplexer; polarization beam splitter; dry etching; carrier life time.; Photonics; Fotonik;

    Sammanfattning : Optical devices based on planar lightwave circuit (PLC) technology have the advantages of small size, high reliability, possibility for large scale production, and potential integration with electronics. These devices are widely employed in optical telecommunications, sensing, data storage, imaging, and signal processing. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Decoupling and Evaluation of Multiple Antenna Systems in Compact MIMO Terminals

    Författare :Hui Li; Sailing He; Cyril Luxey; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multiple antennas; mutual coupling; compact antennas; frequency reconfigurable antennas; pattern reconfigurable antennas; meta-material antennas; mobile antennas; fractal antennas; collocated antennas; antenna measurement.;

    Sammanfattning : Research on multiple antenna systems has been a hot topic in recent years due to the demands for higher transmission rate and more reliable link in rich scattering environment in wireless communications. Using multiple antennas at both the transmitter side and the receiver side increases the channel capacity without additional frequency spectrum and transmitted power. LÄS MER

  4. 4. EMF Exposure and Radiation Performance of Millimeter-Wave Antennas in 5G Mobile Terminals

    Författare :Bo Xu; Sailing He; Oscar Quevedo-Teruel; Akimasa Hirata; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Since 2019, 5G has been rolled out in many countries. To support the demand of increasing traffic capacity, for the first time, the millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency spectrum is exploited for the mobile wireless telecommunication technologies. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Strongly Coupled Performance Prediction for Sailing Yachts based on CFD

    Författare :Rickard Lindstrand Levin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wind Triangle; RANS; Sailing; Velocity Prediction Program; Rigid Body Motion; Wide and Light Yacht; Laser dinghy;

    Sammanfattning : Quantifying performance of sailing yachts can be done in many different ways. Historically the most common way is a static approach where a steady state solution is obtained by solving equilibrium equations in 3 or 4 degrees of freedom. More recently, dynamic methods have appeared. In this thesis a method of the latter kind in proposed. LÄS MER
