1. Logistic Time Requirements in Fast Sea Transportation Systems
Sammanfattning : The dissertation deals with logistic time requirements in fast sea transportation systems and the benefit of the application of the total time definition. The transportation engineering approach, to create new transport systems with high effectiveness, high service levels and also with high resource utilisation, has to some extent gained acceptance in the transportation industry, but it has not been fully realised that the transport system and the traffic system are not identical and that by focusing on high performance of the traffic system no guarantee is given that the transport system will become effective. 2. Massive MIMO From a Terminal Perspective
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the terminal aspects of massive MIMO systems. Based on the degree of freedom a terminal have in a MaMi, different antenna configurations, transceiver topologies with associated transmission schemes, and the underlying algorithms are researched. LÄS MER
3. Studies of genes involved in regulating flowering time in Arabidopsis
Sammanfattning : Transition from a vegetative growth phase to flowering in plants occurs in response to both environmental conditions and endogenous signals. Identification of genes that are involved in regulating the time of flowering is of great importance in agri- and horticulture. LÄS MER
4. Ribosomal translocation in real time : Method development to Applications
Sammanfattning : Translational elongation is the process in which the ribosome adds one amino acid at a time to the nascent peptide chain. As the ribosome elongates the peptide chain by 14 - 20 amino acids per second and performs hundreds of such cycles per protein, ‘elongation’ is one of the most crucial steps in translation. LÄS MER
5. Retroviral long Terminal Repeats; Structure, Detection and Phylogeny
Sammanfattning : Long terminal repeats (LTRs) are non-coding repeats flanking the protein-coding genes of LTR retrotransposons. The variability of LTRs poses a challenge in studying them. Hidden Markov models (HMMs), probabilistic models widely used in pattern recognition, are useful in dealing with this variability. LÄS MER
