  1. 1. Safety as a process : From risk perception to safety activity

    Författare :Christina Stave; Tore J Larsson; Institutionen för produkt- och produktionsutveckling Chalmers Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Accident prevention; Occupation; Risk; Perception; Safety; Food; Industry; V Medicine; V Medicine; Oha Labour and labour market; Oha Labour and labour market;

    Sammanfattning : The frequency of occupational accidents in the Swedish food industry and agriculture is high. This thesis has therefore explored the 'process of safety' in order to detect and analyse factors that either hinder or facilitate safety activity and to further develop intervention methods towards increased safety activity. 2. 2. Forecasting Indian Road Traffic Casualties: Guidance to Prioritize Road Safety Technologies and Regulations

    Författare :Pradeep Puthan Pisharam; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; effectiveness; safety benefit; Accidents; future crashes; vision zero; assessment; evaluation; crash; ADAS;

    Sammanfattning : India accounts for 11% (nearly 150,000) of global road traffic deaths and its fatality rate is 22.6 per 100,000 people, almost three times higher than that of the European region. India is committed to reducing fatalities and has signed the Stockholm declaration to halve the fatalities by 2030. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Improving the Evaluation Process for Active Safety Functions

    Författare :Mikael Ljung Aust; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Situational Control; Advanced Driver Assistance Systems; Safety Benefit Assessment; Driver Behavior Analysis; Active Safety Systems; Crash Causation Analysis; In-depth Crash Investigation;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of the present thesis was to improve key steps in the procedure for functional, formative evaluation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Five unresolved theoretical and empirical issues were identified and addressed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Smart Homes and User Values : Long-term evaluation of IT-services in Residential and Single Family Dwellings

    Författare :Greger Sandström; Ulf Keijer; Brian Atkin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; accessibility; developer; dwelling; construction process; evaluation; home; housing; information technology; intelligent building; long-term; model; post-occupancy evaluation; resident; service delivery; smart home; trust; usability; usefulness; user; user evaluation; user experience; user value; Architecture; Arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : Do residents find value in smart home functions? How should these functions be designed to offer user benefit? These were the governing questions of this study that involved nearly 200 families in three different housing projects during five years of occupancy. The housing units were equipped with advanced smart homes solutions, electronic and digital devices to control them, and a set of functions to increase comfort, safety and security in the homes. 5. 5. Methods and models for safety benefit assessment of advanced driver assistance systems in car-to-cyclist conflicts

    Författare :Jordanka Kovaceva; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traffic safety; overtaking manoeuvres; cyclist; safety benefit; naturalistic data;

    Sammanfattning : To help drivers avoid or mitigate the severity of crashes, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) can be designed to provide warnings or interventions. Prospective safety assessment of ADAS is important to quantify and optimise their safety benefit. Such safety assessment methods include, for example, virtual simulations and test-track testing.
