11. P-T evolotion and High-temperature deformation of Precambrian eclogite, Sveconorwegian orogen
Sammanfattning : The 1.1-0.9 Ga Sveconorwegian orogen is one of several Grenvillian-aged orogenic belts that mark the amalgamation of supercontinent Rodinia. The highest-pressure rocks in the Sveconorwegian orogen are eclogites in the Eastern Segment (SW Sweden). LÄS MER
12. Light scattering and absorption in pigmented coatings : Theory and experiments
Sammanfattning : Radiative transfer models are used to describe optical properties of polymericthick films containing spherical inhomogeneities with sizes comparable to thewavelength of the incident radiation. From Lorenz-Mie theory various parametersrelated to elastic light scattering and absorption by single particles are calculated, i.e. LÄS MER
13. Adsorption and reactions of sulfur dioxide on TiO2 surfaces : Fundamental studies on single crystals and nanoparticles
Sammanfattning : Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a material that is well-known among researchers in environmental science but is perhaps less well-known by the general public. It is commonly used in white paint because of its ability to scatter visible light, and for this reason it is manufactured at a large industrial scale. LÄS MER
14. Dye-sensitized nanostructured metal oxide electrodes : Photoelectrochemical, quantum chemical and electron spectroscopic studies
Sammanfattning : Solar cells based on dye-Sensitized nanostructured electrodes are promising for solar energy conversion. High overall light-to-energy conversion efficiencies have been obtained for systems based on TiO2 (7%) and ZnO (2%). The photocurrent losses in these electrodes have been investigated by photoelectrochemical methods. LÄS MER
15. Modification of Oxide Surfaces with Functional Organic Molecules, Nanoparticles, and Hetero-Oxide Layers
Sammanfattning : The research work described in this thesis is concerned with the modification of oxide surfaces, as reflected by its title. The surfaces and their modification have been studied using a range of experimental surface characterization tools, in particular x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), fluorescence microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and scanning tunneling microscopy.
