  1. 11. Retinal Vein Occlusion A clinical study of electrophysiology, certain prognostic factors and treatment

    Författare :Charlotte Lindberg; Lund Oftalmologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ophtalmology; Oftalmologi; multifocal electroretinography vitrectomy; electroretinography; factor V Leiden; retinal vein occlusion; prognostic factors;

    Sammanfattning : The influence of the factor V Leiden mutation on the development of neovascular complications in central retinal vein occlusion was studied. The presence of the mutation was found to enhance the risk of developing neovascular complications almost threefold compared to in patients without the mutation. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Cancer of the Colon and Rectum : Prognostic Factors and Early Detection

    Författare :Ulrik Wallin; Helgi Birgisson; Niels Qvist; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; colorectal cancer screening predictive markers prognostic markers;

    Sammanfattning : Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common causes of death from malignant disease. Nevertheless, no ideal screening method exists and there is a lack of prognostic and predictive factors to support clinical decisions and to aid the development of a more individualized treatment for patients with CRC. 3. 13. Pancreatic Cancer - Early Detection, Prognostic Factors, and Treatment

    Författare :Daniel Ansari; Lund Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; artificial neural networks; apicidin; centralization; early detection; epigenetics; high definition mass spectrometry; MUC4; pancreatic cancer; pancreaticoduodenectomy; prognostic factors; xenograft model; treatment;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death. Only about 6% of patients are alive 5 years after diagnosis. One reason for this low survival rate is that most patients are diagnosed at a late stage, when the tumor has spread to surrounding tissues or distant organs. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Prognostic Factors in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

    Författare :Georg Holgersson; Stefan Bergström; Michael Bergqvist; Simon Ekman; Fredrik Pontén; Henrik Riska; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NSCLC; prognostic factors; survival; histology; anemia; leukocytosis; thrombocytosis; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the cancer disease with the highest mortality globally. About 75% of NSCLC patients are diagnosed in an advanced stage where surgical treatment is not possible. For patients with locally advanced disease without distant metastases, the treatment of choice is curatively intended radiotherapy. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Telomere length as prognostic parameter in chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; telomere length; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; prognosis; longitudinal sampling; genomic aberrations; IGHV; CD38; ZAP70; prognostic factors; Pathology; Patologi; patologi; Pathology;

    Sammanfattning : B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) is the most common leukemia among the adult population in western countries and accounts for 30-40% of all leukemias. With survival time ranging from months to decades, the clinical course of individual CLL patients is highly variable. LÄS MER
