  1. 21. Who comes first? Implications of the plant-microbiome-soil continuum feedback on plant performance

    Författare :David Castro; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Plants are sessile organisms that rely on their ability to explore the soil to access the nutrients and water they need to survive. Plants have co-evolved with certain groups of bacteria and fungi that provide nutrients and water and enhance tolerance to abiotic and biotic stressors in exchange for Carbon (C). LÄS MER

  2. 22. Resource economy of carnivorous plants: Interactions between prey capture and plant performance in three subarctic Pinguicula species

    Författare :Magnus Thorén; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant ecology; income breeder; capital breeder; supplementary feeding; reproductive effort; life-history; cost of reproduction; Växtekologi;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I have studied in situ the resource economy of the three carnivorous plant species Pinguicula alpina, P. villosa and P. vulgaris in a subarctic environment. The prey capture varied among individual plants, years and species. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Retrofitting CHP Plant and Optimization of Regional Energy System

    Författare :Song Han; Jinyue Yan; Eva Thorin; Mats Westermark; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :annual performance; combined heat and power; drying; ethanol; integration; part-load.; årliga prestation; kraftvärme; torkning; etanol; integration; del-last.; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The use of biomass-based combined heat and power (CHP) plants is considered by the EU administration to be an effective way to increase the use of renewables in the energy system, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to alleviate the dependency on imported fossil fuels. At present in Sweden, most of the CHP plants are operated in part-load mode because of variations in heat demand. LÄS MER

  4. 24. An Experimental Study to Improve the Casting Performance of Steel Grades Sensitive for Clogging

    Författare :Jennie Svensson; Pär Jönsson; Voicu Brabie; Lauri Holappa; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Preheating; Decarburization; RBM; Clogging; SEN; Plasma sprayed coating; CaTiO3; YSZ; Continuous casting; Pilot plant trials; Industrial plant trials; Clean steel; Tundish; Non-metallic inclusions; MISS; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In this study, the goal is to optimize the process and to reduce the clogging tendency during the continuous casting process. The focus is on clogging when the refractory base material (RBM) in the SEN is in contact with the liquid steel. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Studies of safety and critical work situations in nuclear power plants : a human factors perspective

    Författare :Lena Kecklund; Erik Hollnagel; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Safety; nuclear power; operators; work-related factors; performance; human error; annual outage; MTO; Psychology; Psykologi; psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to develop and apply different approaches for analyzing safety in critical work situations in real work settings in nuclear power plants, and also to identify safety enhancing measures by using the framework of interaction between human, organizational and technical subsystems (MTO, man-technology-organization). A Cognitive Psychology as well as a Stress Psychology framework was used. LÄS MER
