2. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: long-term outcome in adults and adolescents. Clinical results, health-related quality of life, radiographic findings and bone mineral assessments
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to measure health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and assess pre-operative factors predicting good outcome of HRQoL after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Furthermore, to specifically assess long-term radiographic findings, clinical results, and bone mineral density in adolescents after ACL reconstruction. LÄS MER
3. Is it possible to predict the outcome of an anterior cruciate ligament injury?
Sammanfattning : This thesis centers on a well-studied cohort of 100 patients, which received a treatment regimen of initial rehabilitation and activity modification to cope with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. The data, collected prospectively and longitudinally, cover a span of 15 years after initial injury. LÄS MER
4. Generalized Joint Hypermobility and Specific Knee Laxity: Aspects of influence on the Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injured Knee
Sammanfattning : Injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the most serious sports-related injuries, with significant short- and long-term morbidity. Generalized joint hypermobility (GJH) and specific knee laxity are factors that have been associated with an increased risk of ACL injury and inferior postoperative outcome, but the state of the evidence is unclear and the available information is limited. 5. Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction - Graft failures, surgical techniques and patient-reported outcome measures
Sammanfattning : Injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) can result in increased joint laxity, which often ends participation in competitive sports and may, in the medium to long term, lead to degeneration of the knee. The occurrence of ACL injuries has increased in recent years and, today, ACL reconstruction is one of the most common procedures in orthopaedic surgery. LÄS MER
