  1. 1. Producing, Preventing, and Explaining Persistent Complex Subliminal Stimulation Effects

    Författare :Andreas Birgegård; Staffan Sohlberg; Mario Mikulincer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Subliminal stimuli; persistent effects; attachment; relational schema; ethics; debriefing; interaction; motivation; sex differences; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Strong recent focus on unconscious processes has increased interest in subliminal stimulation and similar experimental technologies. Assumptions about the persistence of effects of unconscious stimulation are generally conservative, referring to seconds or minutes (Silverman, 1977; Velmans, 1991). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Developmental neurotoxicity of persistent and non-persistent pollutants : Behavioral and neurochemical assessments of a perfluorinated compound, pesticides and interaction effects

    Författare :Iwa Lee; Henrik Viberg; Per Eriksson; William Mundy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Brain; Neonatal; Mixtures; Cholinergic system; Organochlorines; Pyrethroids; Organophosphates; Carbamates; Insecticides; PFCs; PFAAs; PFHxS; Endosulfan; Cypermethrin; Chlorpyrifos; Carbaryl; Biology with specialization in Environmental Toxicology; Biologi med inriktning mot miljötoxikologi;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis was to investigate developmental neurotoxic effects of different persistent and non-persistent environmental pollutants, alone or in binary mixtures, when exposure occurs during a critical period of brain development, in mice. The compounds investigated included a perfluorinated compound, perfluorohexane sulphonate (PFHxS), and four different pesticides, endosulfan, cypermethrin, chlorpyrifos and carbaryl. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Persistent musculoskeletal pain : A web-based activity programme for behaviour change, does it work? Expectations and experiences of the physiotherapy treatment process

    Författare :Tommy Calner; Peter Michaelson; Lars Nyberg; Gunvor Gard; Anneli Peolsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; behaviour change; expectations; experiences; feasibility; multimodal intervention; musculoskeletal pain; pain management; physiotherapy; qualitative content analysis; single subject experimental design; web-based intervention; work ability; Physiotherapy; Fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerned persons with persistent musculoskeletal pain in primary health care and had three aims. The first aim was to evaluate the effects of a web-based programme for behaviour change. The second aim was to create and evaluate a multimodal intervention. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Fishy behavior : persistent effects of early-life exposure to 17α-ethinylestradiol

    Författare :Kristina Volkova; Inger Porsch Hällström; Svante Winberg; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Endocrine disruptors; anxiety; stress behavior; transgenerational effects; 17α-ethinylestradiol; developmental exposure; social behavior; fish; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : The synthetic estrogen 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE2) is an endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) of concern due to its persistent nature and widespread presence in the aquatic environment. In mammals, effects of developmental EDC exposure on reproduction and behavior not only persist to adulthood after discontinued exposure, but are also inherited by several consecutive unexposed generations. 5. 5. Microplastics in the aquatic environment: Insights into biological fate and effects in fish

    Författare :Giedrė Ašmonaitė; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microplastics; nanoplastics; plastic pollution; effects; fish; chemical mixtures; ecotoxicology;

    Sammanfattning : According to the United Nations, plastic pollution in the natural environment has been identified as one of the biggest environmental challenges of this century and has become a cause for an emerging international concern. It has been predicted that up to 12 million tons of plastic waste reach the aquatic environment annually. LÄS MER
