  1. 6. Stimulation of tendon repair by platelet concentrate, CDMP-2 and mechanical loading in animal models

    Författare :Olena Virchenko; Per Aspenberg; Jon Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Achilles tendon; injuries; physiology; Blood platelets; tendon injuries; physiopathology; therapy; wound healing; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : Growth factor delivery may be useful to accelerate the rate of tendon healing. We studied Platelet Concentrate, which in effect can be regarded as a cocktail of growth factors relevant for tendon healing. LÄS MER

  2. 7. The patellar tendon in junior elite volleyball players and an Olympic elite weightlifter

    Författare :Karl Gisslén; Håkan Alfredson; Jon Karlsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; jumper’s knee; patellar tendinopathy; chronic pain; ultrasonography; doppler; neovascularisation; volleyball; weightlifting; Medicine; Medicin; Orthopaedics; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : The principal aim of the present thesis was to prospectively follow (clinical status and ultrasound + Doppler findings) the patellar tendons in the young elite volleyball players at the Swedish National Centre for high school volleyball in Falköping. In an Olympic weightlifter with chronic painful jumper´s knee, the effects of treatment with sclerosing injections followed by early instituted very heavy weightlifting training, was also evaluated. 3. 8. Patellar and Achilles tendinopathy : sclerosing injections and ultrasound guided arthroscopic shaving

    Författare :Lotta Willberg; Håkan Alfredson; Jerker Sandelin; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; arthroscopy; jumper’s knee; sclerosing injection; tendinopathy; ultrasound; Orthopaedics; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic painful tendinopathy is a common cause for elite- and recreational athletes to stop or decrease the level of their sports activity. Recent research on innervation patterns, histopathology and possible pain mechanisms in tendons has led to an increased knowledge about the chronic painful tendon. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Rehabilitation following bone-patellar tendon-bone graft ACL reconstruction

    Författare :Christina Mikkelsen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :ACL injury; ACL reconstruction; ACL rehabilitation; Anterior knee laxity; Closed kinetic chain; Extension deficit; Functional outcome score; Gender; Hyperextension brace; Isokinetic open kinetic chain; KOOS; KT-1000 arthrometer; Patello femoral pain; Personality characteristics; Physical activity; Quadriceps torque; Range of motion;

    Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of this Thesis was to improve treatment and rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft. Study I: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare closed kinetic chain (CKC) training and a combination of closed and open kinetic chain (OKC) quadriceps exercises following ACL reconstruction on anterior knee laxity and isokinetic muscle torque. 5. 10. On surgical techniques to reduce morbidity after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The significance of harvesting technique, preconditioning, graft choice and the course of bone mineral in the calcaneus

    Författare :Lars Ejerhed; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction; patellar tendon autograft; semitendinosus tendon autograft; preconditioning; bone mineral areal mass;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the study was to reduce undesired postoperative effects, such as anterior knee pain, loss of sensitivity in the knee region and problems with knee-walking after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructive surgery. Furthermore, prospectively to evaluate the bone mineral in the calcanei before and after ACL reconstruction. LÄS MER
