    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hearing impairment; normal hearing; age; speech-in-noise; working memory; inhibitory control; listening effort; Hörselnedsättning; normal hörsel; ålder; tal-i-brus; arbetsminne; inhibitionskontroll; lyssningansträngning;

    Sammanfattning : Age affects hearing and cognitive abilities. Older people, with and without hearing impairment (HI), exhibit difficulties in hearing speech in noise. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Time is of the essence in speech perception! : Get it fast, or think about it

    Författare :Shahram Moradi; Jerker Rönnberg; Björn Lidestam; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Noise; auditory speech perception; audiovisual speech perception; hearing aids; Buller; hörsel; auditiv talperception; audiovisuell talperception; hörhjälpmedel;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis examined the extent to which background noise influences the isolation point (IP, the shortest time from the onset of speech stimulus required for correct identification of that speech stimulus) and accuracy in identification of different types of speech stimuli (consonants, words, and final words in high-predictable [HP] and low-predictable [LP] sentences). These speech stimuli were presented in different modalities of presentation (auditory, visual, and audiovisual) to young normal-hearing listeners (Papers 1, 2, and 5). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Performance, Processing and Perception of Communicative Motion for Avatars and Agents

    Författare :Simon Alexanderson; Jonas Beskow; John Glauert; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tal- och musikkommunikation; Speech and Music Communication;

    Sammanfattning : Artificial agents and avatars are designed with a large variety of face and body configurations. Some of these (such as virtual characters in films) may be highly realistic and human-like, while others (such as social robots) have considerably more limited expressive means. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Middle Ear Pressure; A New Method for Continuous Direct Measurements

    Författare :Bo Tideholm; allergi och livskvalitet Laryngoesofagologi; []

    Sammanfattning : Disturbances in the pressure homeostasis of the middle ear (ME) system cause a pressure gradient across the tympanic membrane lessen the effectiveness of sound transmission and may be associated to development of chronic ME disease. An equipment for continuous direct pressure measurements was developed and was found to be accurate, base-line stabile and portable. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Specific Language Impairment in Swedish: Grammar and Interaction

    Författare :Kristina Hansson; foniatri och audiologi Logopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Otorhinolaryngology; interaction; mazes; subordination; word order; verb forms; grammar; Swedish; specific language impairment; audiology; auditive system and speech; Otorinolaryngologi; audiologi; hörsel- och talorganen;

    Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this work was to explore grammar in Swedish children with Specific Language Impairment (SLI), that is children with impaired language development in the presence of normal hearing and otherwise normal development. In four differents studies, spontaneous data from six children with SLI were analysed and compared with data from either younger children with phonological impairment but normal grammar (PI), or from younger controls with typical development.
