1. Using Molecular Dynamics Simulations to Explore Critical Property Relationships in Polymer Electrolytes : Polarity, Coordination, Ionic transport, Ion-pairing, and Ion-ion Correlations
Sammanfattning : While ion transport in solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) has been explored for decades, there still remains controversies about its fundamental properties, often correlated with gaps between experimental and computational studies. Using molecular dynamics simulations to understand the complex transport mechanisms and also to fill these gaps is the main goal of this thesis. LÄS MER
2. Raman and Brillouin scattering studies of ion conducting polymers

3. Innovative Electrolytes for Safer Sodium-Ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : The overconsumption of non-renewable/fossil fuels by vehicles and industry has resulted in dangerously high levels of CO2 in the atmosphere the last 40 years. The impact on the environment, climate and public health urge governments to find new technologies to ensure a sustainable development. LÄS MER
4. Amphiphilic Graft Copolymer Electrolytes for Lithium-Ion Polymer Batteries. - Preparation and Characterisation
Sammanfattning : In the present work amphiphilic graft copolymers were prepared by free radical copolymerization of macromonomers in solution. The graft copolymers consisted of methacrylate backbones bearing ethylene oxide (EO)n side chains of varying length as ionophilic groups, and fluorocarbon (CF2)6 side chains or hydrocarbon groups as ionophobic groups. 5. Simulating ion transport in electrolyte materials with physics-based and machine-learning models
Sammanfattning : Electrolytes are indispensable components of electrochemical devices such as batteries, fuel cells, and supercapacitors, and the mass transport in electrolytes is one of the most important design focuses of such devices. A microscopic picture of ion transport is essential to link the chemical properties of electrolyte materials to their electrochemical applications. LÄS MER
