  1. 1. In Light of Ionic Materials : A short exploration of ionic materials for light-related applications

    Författare :Brando Adranno; Anja-Verena Mudring; Annegret Stark; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ionic materials; ionic liquids; mesophases; light-emission; electrochemical applications; materialkemi; Materials Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Ionic liquids (ILs) have been one of the most attractive classes of materials of the last decades. The reason behind this is their peculiar set of properties, which enable their possible application in several research fields. ILs are salts that exhibit a very low melting point, which has been arbitrarily defined to be below 100 °C. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Understanding Ionic Conductivity in Crystalline Polymer Electrolytes

    Författare :Daniel Brandell; Josh Thomas; Torbjörn Gustafsson; Peter G. Bruce; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Polymer electrolyte; molecular dynamics; conductivity mechanism; aliovalent anion substitution; smectic; nematic; polymer chain length; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Polymer electrolytes are widely used as ion transport media in vital applications such as energy storage devices and electrochemical displays. To further develop these materials, it is important to understand their ionic conductivity mechanisms. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Exploring The Versatility Of Ionic Liquids : From fundamental understanding to materials inspired from ionic liquids

    Författare :Olivier Renier; Anja-Verena Mudring; Lydie Viau; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ionic liquids; liquid crystals; DSSC; molecular design; Luminescent materials; anhydrous compounds; phase transition; complex coordination; materialkemi; Materials Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Ionic liquids (ILs) have gained popularity as “green” and safe replacements for conventional organic solvents. They are defined as ionic salts displaying a melting point below 100 °C. Some of their unique characteristics also include negligible vapour pressure, good electrical conductivity as well as good thermal and chemical stability. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Ionic transport of α-alumina below 1000°C : an in-situ impedance spectrosocpy study

    Författare :Johan Öijerholm; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; α-alumina; in-situ impedance spectroscopy; molecular dynamics; spark plasma sintering; conductivity; microstructure; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Ionic conductivity of metal oxides is critical for the function of a broad range of different components, such as electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells and alloys designed for high temperature applications. In both cases the ionic conductivity can be studied by in situ impedance spectroscopy, which is also able to reveal information on the dielectric properties of the metal oxides, and in some cases the influence of their microstructure.
