6. Very high cycle fatigue of tool steels
Sammanfattning : An increasing number of engineering components are expected to have fatigue life in the range of 107 - 1010 load cycles. Some examples of such components are found in airplanes, automobiles and high speed trains. LÄS MER
7. Very high cycle fatigue of high performance steels
Sammanfattning : Many engineering components reach a finite fatigue life well above 109 load cycles. Some examples of such components are found in airplanes, automobiles or high speed trains. For some materials the fatigue failures have lately been found to occur well after 107 load cycles, namely in the Very High Cycle Fatigue (VHCF) range. LÄS MER
8. Initiation and early crack growth in VHCF of stainless steels : Experimental and theoretical analysis
Sammanfattning : Mechanical fatigue is a failure phenomenon that occurs due to repeated application of mechanical loads. Very High Cycle Fatigue (VHCF) is considered as the domain of fatigue life greater than 10 million load cycles. LÄS MER
9. The interdependence of plastic behaviour and final properties of steel wire, analysed by the finite element method
Sammanfattning : The finite element method (FEM) has been used in order to study the interdependence of plastic behaviour and final properties in steel wire. Three processes metal forming have been studied: billet forging, wire rod rolling, and cold drawing. LÄS MER
10. Experimental and theoretical investigation of the laser cutting process
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns experimental investigations of laser cutting with theoretical and practical discussions of the results. The thesis is made up of three papers which are linked in such a way that each of them studies a different aspect of laser cutting: In paper I the two major laser types in cutting, namely CO2 and fiber lasers, are compared to each other by a self-defined cut efficiency.
