  1. 11. (In-)Stability of LiPF6-based Electrolytes for Lithium-ion Batteries

    Författare :Susanne Wilken; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; FTIR; additives; Lithium batteries; Raman; electrolytes; thermal decomposition; NMR spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : The state of the art lithium-ion batteries present in most portable electronics consist of the salt LiPF6, organic solvents such as ethylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate (commonly seen as EC/DMC), and finally, a number of additives - all components enclosed by different kinds of electrode chemistries.Despite their commercial success, all LiPF6 based electrolytes suffer from poor chemical and thermal stability. 2. 12. Engineering of metal microstructures : process-microstructure-property relationships for electrodeposits

    Författare :Jens A. D. Jensen; Dieter Landolt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The relationships between growth-conditions, topography and microstructure, and physical properties of electrochemically deposited copper, nickel and zinc-iron alloys were studied. Growth was investigated while systematically varying process parameters such as electrolyte chemistry, type and concentration of additives, current density, and mass transport. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Fundamental Insights into the Electrochemistry of Tin Oxide in Lithium-Ion Batteries

    Författare :Solveig Böhme; Leif Nyholm; Kristina Edström; Laure Monconduit; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tin; Tin oxide; Lithium-ion batteries; Electrochemistry; High temperature cycling; Conversion reaction; XPS; SEM; Kemi med inriktning mot materialkemi; Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to provide insight into the fundamental electrochemical processes taking place when cycling SnO2 in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Special attention was paid to the partial reversibility of the tin oxide conversion reaction and how to enhance its reversibility. LÄS MER

  4. 14. All silicon lithium-ion batteries

    Författare :Chao Xu; Torbjörn Gustafsson; Kristina Edström; Daniel Brandell; Ola Nilson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Lithium-ion batteries have been widely used as power supplies for portable electronic devices due to their higher gravimetric and volumetric energy densities compared to other electrochemical energy storage technologies, such as lead-acid, Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries. Developing a novel battery chemistry, ‘‘all silicon lithium-ion batteries’’, using lithium iron silicate as the cathode and silicon as the anode, is the primary aim of this Ph. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Bilayer Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells for Signage and Lighting Applications

    Författare :E. Mattias Lindh; Ludvig Edman; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic electronics; Light-emitting electrochemical cell; Signage; Display; Luminescent line art; Inkjet printing; Direct-write printing; fysik; Physics; Electronics; elektronik;

    Sammanfattning : Artificial light surrounds us in a manifold of shapes. It is mainly utilized for illumination, but also for graphical communication of complex and evolving messages and information, among other things. It can be generated in different ways with incandescent lamps and fluorescent tubes constituting two common examples. LÄS MER
