  1. 1. Designing dynamic textile patterns

    Författare :Linda Worbin; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; smart textiles; textile design; dynamic textile patterns;

    Sammanfattning : Designing Dynamic Textile Patterns Progress in chemistry, fibres and polymers technology provides textile designers with new expressive materials, making it possible to design dynamic textile patterns, where several different expressions are inherent in the same textile, textiles that, for example, could alternate between a striped and checkered pattern. Textiles are traditionally designed and produced to keep a given, static expression during their life cycle; a striped pattern is supposed to keep its stripes. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Dynamic Textile Patterns: designing with smart textiles

    Författare :Linda Worbin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Textile design; dynamic textile pattern; smart textile; practice-based design research; thermo-chromic; interaction design; experimental design; electroluminescent;

    Sammanfattning : New smart textile materials have been investigated and show that today`s textile patterns can be designed to offer more than traditional textile patterns do. The prototypes of dynamic textile patterns designed in this thesis are brought about in a new design process that takes smart textile materials into consideration. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Creating diverse colour-changing effects on textiles

    Författare :Marjan Kooroshnia; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; dynamic textile patterns; leuco dye-based thermochromic inks; textile design; Smart textiles; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Sammanfattning : With the technological progress of materials science, the palette of colours with which to print on textiles has expanded beyond those with previously known properties and expressions to a new generation, with more advanced functionality and expressive properties. This new range of colours is characterised by their ability when printed on textiles to change colour in relation to external factors and internal programmes; for example, leuco dye-based thermochromic inks generally change colour in response to temperature fluctuations. 4. 4. On textile printing with thermochromic inks

    Författare :Marjan Kooroshnia; Hanna Landin; Sara Robertson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes an exploration of the principles of applying leuco dye-based inks to textile design practice. The main motivation has been to explore the design properties and potentials of leuco dye-based thermochromic inks when printed on textiles in order to obtain an understanding and facilitate the design of dynamic surface patterns. 5. 5. On the Textility of Smell in Spatial Design

    Författare :Jyoti Kapur; Jo-Anne Bichard; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : The ocular-centric approach predominant in the field of design, particularly textile and spatial design, focuses on visual aesthetics and visually mediated interactions. Whereas the non-visual materialities of a space, such as smells, are ignored in the design process, meaning that interior spaces with homogenously odourless environments lack interactions with the olfactory.
