  1. 6. Performance, Availability, and Scalability in Open Networking Platforms for Internet Services

    Författare :Voravit Tanyingyong; Peter Sjödin; Markus Hidell; Raimo Kantola; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Network architecture and design; Network communications; Performance; Availability; Scalability; Internet of Things IoT ; Nätverksarkitektur och design; nätverkskommunikation; prestanda; tillgänglighet; skalbarhet; sakernas internet IoT ; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Advancement in technologies brings about new demands and services. In parallel, modern commodity off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware has become very capable yet affordable. It is often used in combination with Free/Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS) to build open networking platforms, which offer alternatives to commercial network devices. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Towards environmentally sustainable freight transport: shippers' logistics actions to improve load factor performance

    Författare :Vendela Santén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sustainability; systems approach; shipper; logistics activities; links; performance; load factor; freight transport; environment; actions;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to explain how shippers’ logistics actions contribute to environmentally sustainable freight transport, by clarifying the link between logistics activities and the resulting load factor performance. Five studies have been undertaken, which have given rise to six papers. LÄS MER

  3. 8. The significance of mitochondrial respiratory function in regulating oxygen uptake and performance in humans

    Författare :Daniele A. Cardinale; Filip J Larsen; David Bishop; Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mitochondria; OXPHOS; p50mito; mitochondrial oxygen affinity; oxygen extraction; sex difference; hyperoxia; training; muscle metabolism; performance; HIIT; Medicin Teknik; Medicine Technology;

    Sammanfattning : The mitochondrion is one of the most fascinating organelles of our cells which has kept and keeps researchers busy in studying its origin, the complex morphology, the numerous functions, the rapid adaptations to a variety of stimuli and its role in health and disease. Exercise challenges cellular homeostasis and skeletal muscle mitochondria greatly adapt to repeated bouts of exercise by increasing mitochondrial respiratory function and content to match energy requirements and to better sustain future perturbations induced by muscle contractions. 4. 9. Geographic Routing in Intermittently-connected Mobile Ad Hoc Networks : Algorithms and Performance Models

    Författare :Erik Kuiper; Simin Nadjm-Tehrani; Di Yuan; Mats Ekman; Timothy Brown; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Communication is a key enabler for cooperation. Thus to support efficient communication humanity has continuously strived to improve the communication infrastructure. This infrastructure has evolved from heralds and ridden couriers to a digital telecommunication infrastructures based on electrical wires, optical fibers and radio links. LÄS MER
