  1. 6. Non-coding RNAs and Extracellular Vesicles in Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma

    Författare :Chen Li; Andor Pivarcsi; Gareth Inman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma; microRNA; long non-coding RNA; extracellular vesicle;

    Sammanfattning : Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) ranks among the most widespread malignancies with metastatic potential. Investigating the molecular mechanism of tumorigenesis will enhance our understanding of cSCC. Aberrant expression of non-coding RNAs has been extensively reported in human cancers. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the cancer of the kidneys; about 1100 patients with RCC are diagnosed in Sweden each year. RCC can be classified into several subtypes, clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is most common accounting to about 70% of all RCCs, and also the most lethal; papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC) accounts to about 10%‐15%, while chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (chRCC) accounts to about 5% of all RCCs. Sammanfattning : Background: Squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN)comprises a large group of tumours including the oral cavity and nasopharyngealarea, and typically affects older males in association with alcohol/tobacco usage.Within the oral cavity, the mobile tongue is the most common site for tumourdevelopment. 4. 9. Molecular Analysis of Normal Human Skin and Basal Cell Carcinoma Using Microdissection Based Methods

    Författare :Anna Asplund; Fredrik Pontén; Uffe Birk Jenssen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pathology; skin; basal cell carcinoma; microdissection; X-chromosome inactivation; Patologi; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to gain further insight into the biology of normal human skin and basal cell carcinoma (BCC). Morphology in combination with microdissection was used as primary tool for sampling. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Invasion and Proliferation in Malignant Cells

    Författare :Sofie Svensson Månsson; Malmö Patologi; []

    Sammanfattning : Two key events in the oncogenic process of tumor cells are to acquire uncontrolled proliferation and invasive properties. This allows the tumor to grow and invade beyond the tissue from which the tumor cells originate. LÄS MER
