1. How to Reduce Geometrical Variation in Assembled Products
Sammanfattning : Vehicle problems, such as wind noise, water leakage and door closing effort are examples of quality and functionality defects that are controlled by the dimensional accuracy of the structural frame of an auto body. The aim of this thesis is towards methods for reducing geometrical variation in assembled products in the automotiv other industries. LÄS MER
2. A Study on Structural Cores for Lightweight Steel Sandwiches
Sammanfattning : Lightweight materials and structures are essential building blocks for a future with sustainable transportation and automotive industries. Incorporating lightweight materials and structures in today's vehicles, reduces weight and energy consumption while maintaining, or even improving, necessary mechanical properties and behaviors. 3. Towards energy-based fracture modelling for crashworthiness applications
Sammanfattning : The automotive industry is currently adapting to progessively more stringent emission and safety regulations imposed by governmental agencies. This introduces significant design difficulties due to the conflicting nature of passenger safety in automotive manufacturing, namely that increased crashworthiness generally leads to heavier vehicles, which in turn leads to more severe crashes. 4. Circularity Assessment of Water and Waste in Cities : A Proposed Framework for Sustainable Performance Evaluation using LCA and LCC
Sammanfattning : Urbanization is a global phenomenon, happening on a massive scale and at a rapid rate, with 68% of the planet’s population predicted to be living in cities by 2050 (UN-DESA, 2018). The sustainability of a city (Goal 11 of UN SDGs) undergoing rapid urbanization depends on its ability to maintain a low consumption of resources and materials at any given time (referred to as the urban metabolic rate), whilst simultaneously providing essential municipal services to its inhabitants, such as a water supply, wastewater treatment and solid waste management.
