1. Criticality of fast failures in the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider
Sammanfattning : Each of the two Large Hadron Collider (LHC) beams contain 362 MJ of energy. This will be further increased to 678 MJ in the upcoming upgrade to the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). In the event of an uncontrolled beam loss, a significant hazard occurs, that can damage the machine components. LÄS MER
2. Characterization of (Ba,Sr)TiO3 thin films for multiplier applications
Sammanfattning : (Ba,Sr)TiO3 (BSTO) and SrTiO3 (STO) parallel plate ferroelectric varactors are investigated for microwave multiplier applications.STO and BSTO exhibit low losses, high permittivity and largetunability of both permittivity and losses. All films are deposited using Pulsed Laser Deposition, magnetron sputtering and E-beam evaporation. LÄS MER
3. Towards multi-sensor monitoringand control of Directed Energy Deposition using a Laser Beam
4. Assessment of Long-Term Losses in Prestressed Concrete Structures - Application for Nuclear Reactor Containments
Sammanfattning : Most nuclear reactors, both in Sweden and worldwide, are enclosed by a prestressed concrete containment. The main purpose of the containment is to prevent any radioactive discharge to the environment in the event of a major internal accident. LÄS MER
5. InP-based photonic crystals : Processing, Material properties and Dispersion effects
Sammanfattning : Photonic crystals (PhCs) are periodic dielectric structures that exhibit a photonic bandgap, i.e., a range of wavelength for which light propagation is forbidden. The special band structure related dispersion properties offer a realm of novel functionalities and interesting physical phenomena. LÄS MER
