  2. 2. Challenges of renovating the Gothenburg multi-family building stock - An analysis of comprehensive building-specific information, including energy performance, ownership and affordability

    Författare :Mikael Mangold; Seppo Junnila; Sweden Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aging building stock; Energy performance certificate; Energy retrofitting; Equity; GIS; Göteborg; Measured energy usage; Multi-family dwellings; Social sustainability; Tenure;

    Sammanfattning : In Sweden and many European countries, the building stock increased at a rapid pace during the period of 1950-1975. This aging building stock is in need of renovation which is a challenge and an opportunity in reaching the energy performance targets as well as decreasing societal inequities. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Working model and methods for balancing energy performance, cultural and architectural values in our built heritage

    Författare :Heidi Norrström; Michael Edén; Elena Mussinelli; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cultural historical and architectural values; supporting methods; balancing model; case study; legislation; energy efficiency; collaboration;

    Sammanfattning : About 40 per cent of the energy produced within the European Union is consumed in and by the residential and business sector, and the same applies to Sweden. Today’s necessary focus on the climate issue with the concomitant energy issue connected to greenhouse gas emissions has resulted in stringent energy requirements even for preservation work on historically important buildings. 4. 4. District heating in future Europe : Modelling expansion potentials and mapping heat synergy regions

    Författare :Urban Persson; Sven Werner; Lars J. Nilsson; Sweden Gothenburg Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; district heating; energy efficiency; distribution capital cost; heat demand density; plot ratio; excess heat recovery; sequential energy supply; heat utilisation rate; effective width;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a set of methodologies and approaches to investigate and determine the extent by which district heating can contribute to improved energy system efficiency and reduced carbon dioxide emissions in future Europe. The main motivation for suggesting large-scale implementation of district heating as a structural energy efficiency measure to obtain these objectives originates essentially in the predicament that a majority of European buildings today remain highly dependent on fossil fuels to provide energy needed for space heating and hot water preparation. 5. 5. Energy Efficiency and Preservation in Our Cultural Heritage : EEPOCH

    Författare :Heidi Norrström; Michael Edén; Andrew Dainty; Sweden Gothenburg Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy performance; preserved built heritage; historic and architectural values; laws and regulations; collaboration through workshops; interdisciplinarity; transdisciplinarity; multiple case study and indoor climate;

    Sammanfattning : The project EEPOCH concerns our built heritage and the complex set of problems that exist between energy efficiency and preservation perspectives. New legislation demanding efficient energy use is predicated on the documented potential of energy efficiency on both national and international levels. LÄS MER
