  1. 6. Multiscale Modelling of Reinforced Concrete Structures

    Författare :Adam Sciegaj; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cracking; reinforced concrete; computational homogenisation; bond-slip; multiscale;

    Sammanfattning : Concrete cracks at relatively low tensile stresses; cracks open up for ingress of harmful substances, negatively affecting the durability of reinforced concrete structures. Crack widths are thus limited in the design codes, and accurate predictions are needed, especially for large reinforced concrete structures such as bridges or nuclear reactor containment buildings. 2. 7. Upgrading concrete bridges : post-tensioning for higher loads

    Författare :Jonny Nilimaa; Mohammad Al-Emrani; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Concrete; Bridges; Upgrading; Strengthening; Shear; Field testing; Post-tensioning; Prestressing; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : There are a great number of old structures around the world, some of which were designed for completely different purposes than in their current application. Swedish railway bridges were for example only designed for maximum axle loads of 200 kN in the beginning of the 20th century, while the highest axle loads of today are twice as high. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Concrete Bridges : Improved Load Capacity

    Sammanfattning : There are many beautiful old structures around the world, some of which were designed for completely different purposes than their current applications. For example, Swedish railway bridges were only designed to carry axle loads up to 200 kN in the beginning of the 20th century, while modern loads can be twice as high. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Chloride Induced Corrosion of Steel Bars in Fibre Reinforced Concrete

    Författare :Carlos Gil Berrocal; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electrical resistivity; chloride ingress; fibre reinforced concrete; crack width; reinforced concrete durability; chloride-induced corrosion;

    Sammanfattning : Chloride-induced corrosion of reinforcement is the most widespread degradation mechanism affecting the durability of reinforced concrete structures. Macro-cracks provide a preferential path for moisture, oxygen and Cl ions to reach the embedded reinforcement, playing a major role in their total transport. LÄS MER
