  1. 21. Structure evolution of spin-coated phase separated EC/HPC films

    Författare :Pierre Carmona; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spin-coating; controlled drug release; porous film; drug delivery; confocal laser scanning microscope; kinetics; phase separation mechanisms; cellulose; biopolymer; phase separation;

    Sammanfattning : Porous phase-separated films made of ethylcellulose (EC) and hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) are commonly used for controlled drug release. The structure of these thin films is controlling the drug transport from the core to the surrounding liquid in the stomach or intestine. However, detailed understanding of the structure evolution is lacking. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Neutron and X-ray Surface Scattering Reveals the Morphology of Soft Matter Thin Films

    Sammanfattning : The last decades have been overshadowed by reports about the seemingly endless increase use of fossil-based resources. With the development of new products, our mindset is changing so that we more and more need to consider sustainability in our daily lives. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Structure evolution of phase-separated EC/HPC films for controlled drug release

    Författare :Pierre Carmona; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; electron microscopy; coarsening; cellulose; phase separation kinetics; drug delivery; phase separation mechanisms; porous film; biopolymer; controlled drug release; confocal laser scanning microscope; spin-coating.;

    Sammanfattning : Porous phase-separated ethylcellulose/hydroxypropylcellulose (EC/HPC) films are used to control drug transport out of pharmaceutical pellets. The drug transport rate is determined by the structure of the porous films that are formed as the water-soluble HPC leaches out. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Functionalization of Synthetic Polymers for Membrane Bioreactors

    Författare :Hamidreza Barghi; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bioreactor; Functionalization; Hydrophilic; Membrane; Polyamide 46; Synthetic polymer; Resursåtervinning; Resursåtervinning; Resource Recovery;

    Sammanfattning : Membrane bioreactors (MBRs) show great promise for productivity improvement and energy conservation in conventional bioprocesses for wastewater reclamation. In order to attain high productivity in a bioprocess, it is crucial to retain the microorganisms in the bioreactors by preventing wash out. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Chemically Modified Metal Oxide Nanostructures Electrodes for Sensing and Energy Conversion

    Författare :Sami Elhag; Omer Nour; Magnus Willander; Alberta Bonanni; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metal oxide nanostructures; mixed metal oxide nano-compound; low temperature wet-chemical growth; chemically modified electrode; doping; surfactant; potentiometric sensor; chemical sensor and photo-electrochemical activity;

    Sammanfattning : The goal of this thesis is the development of scalable, low cost synthesis of metal oxide nanostructures based electrodes and to correlate the chemical modifications with their energy conversion performance. Methods in energy conversion in this thesis have focused on two aspects; a potentiometric chemical sensor was used to determine the analytical concentration of some components of the analyte solution such as dopamine, glucose and glutamate molecules.
