1. Towards sustainability in additive manufacturing: material and process aspects
Sammanfattning : The acceptance of additive manufacturing (AM) depends on the quality of final parts and process repeatability. Recently, many studies have been dedicated to the establishment of the relationship between the process behavior and material performance. LÄS MER
2. Microstructure and property models of alloy 718 applicable for simulation of manufacturing processes
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on experimental characterization, understanding and modelling of nickel-based alloy 718, for a large range of loading conditions. Alloy 718 is the most widely used nickel-based superalloy, due to its high strength, high corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures. LÄS MER
3. Mechanical Behavior of Tailings : Laboratory Tests from a Swedish Tailings Dam
Sammanfattning : Tailings is leftover material from mining industry and is produced in huge quantities approximately 70-99% of the ore production. Tailings material is stored as impoundments by constructing tailings dams which are often constructed with tailings material itself. LÄS MER
4. On the deformation behavior and cracking of ductile iron; effect of microstructure
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the effect of microstructural variation on the mechanical properties and deformation behavior of ductile iron. To research and determine these effects, two grades of ductile iron, (i) GJS-500-7 and (ii) high silicon GJS-500-14, were cast in a geometry containing several plates with different section thicknesses in order to produce microstructural variation. 5. Hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion behavior of low-temperature carburized austenitic stainless steel
Sammanfattning : For metallic components used in hydrogen environments, hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion have always been important considering potential failure risks. Among many metallic materials, austenitic stainless steel has found broad application because of its excellent corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement resistance. LÄS MER
