  1. 1. Fractionation of Cu and Fe isotopes in metal-rich mine sites : biotic and abiotic processes

    Författare :Nathalie Pérez Rodríguez; Magnus Land; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cu and Fe isotopes; fractionation; tailings; plants; phytoremediation; organic amendments; soil bacteria; Cu and Fe cycle; covellite; redox processes; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Sammanfattning : After mineral exploitation the residual grinded and milled material, rich in sulphide minerals and heavy metals, is often left exposed to the atmospheric variables. This weathered mine waste material can lead to the formation of acid mine drainage (AMD) which has negative effects to the environment. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The impact of cormorant nesting colonies on plants and arthropods

    Författare :Gundula S. Kolb; Peter Hambäck; Lenn Jerling; Post David; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; seabirds; cormorants; islands; nitrogen; phosphorus; plants; arthropods; δ15N; Baltic Sea; ecological stoichiometry; species richness; species composition; numeric response; Biology; Biologi; Plant Ecology; växtekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Seabirds concentrate large amounts of marine nutrients on their nesting islands. This nutrient input can have large consequences for island food webs and community structure. The high nutrient load may also cause runoff into surrounding waters and affect marine communities. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Distribution patterns of fleshy-fruited woody plants at local and regional scales

    Författare :Matilda Arnell; Ove Eriksson; Johan Ehrlén; Sara A.O. Cousins; Angela Moles; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fleshy fruits; woody plants; dispersal; distribution patterns; range filling; dispersal limitation; historical land use; spatial associations; point-pattern analysis; recruitment; reproduction; pollination; fruit set; fruit-removal; Daphne mezereum; Plant Ecology; växtekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Fleshy-fruited woody plants share a long history with humans, providing us with food and wood material. Because of this relation, we have actively moved some of these plants across landscapes and continents. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Jord, linne eller träkol? : Genusordning och hushållsstrategier, Bjuråker 1750-1850

    Författare :Rosemarie Fiebranz; Maria Sjöberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; History; Gender; agrarian history; proto-industrialisation; social differentiation; household; marital conflicts; inheritance practice; linen; charcoal burning; Hälsingland; Sweden; Historia; History subjects; Historieämnen; Historia; History;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to elucidate how people in a household-based pre-industrial agrarian economy acted during a period of great changes. The household is seen as a meaning-creating sym-bol in the local culture. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Diversity and phylogeography in Alisma (Alismataceae), with emphasis on Northern European taxa

    Författare :Anders Jacobson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; morphology; phytogeography; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; taxonomy; Systematic botany; Baltic Sea; Europe; refugia; post-glacial migration; phylogeography; marsh plants; genetic variation; aquatic plants; Alisma; Systematisk botanik; taxonomi; morfologi; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Sammanfattning : In the present thesis the phylogeny and patterns of genetic diversity of the plant genus Alisma (Alismataceae) were investigated by means of genetic markers (RAPDs, allozymes, and ITS and trnL sequences). Additionally, morphological studies were carried out in paper IV. LÄS MER
