  1. 1. Local magnetic susceptometry : Visualizing functional properties of novel materials

    Författare :Ziyan Gu; K. V. Rao; Robert D. Shull; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : One of the rapidly growing instrumentation technologies of late has been Surface Probe Microscopy. Since the award of the Nobel Prize in 1986, this form of instrumentation has expanded into various fascinating forms and is successfully enabling investigations at a nano-scale. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Magnetism in Band Gap Engineered Sputtered MgxZn(1-x)O Thin Films

    Författare :Sreekanth Mahadeva; K Venkat Rao; Lyubov Belova; Mark Fox; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Magnetron co-sputtering; MgO; MgxZn 1-x O; MnxMg 1-x O; thin films; Room-temperature ferromagnetism; band gap engineering; and intrinsic defects;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents a comprehensive study of the intrinsic room temperature ferromagnetism, RTFM, in technologically important thin films of ZnO, MgO, Mg@ZnO, the so-called d0–magnets that do not contain any intrinsic magnetic elements. We also present the first report on magnetism in Mn doped MgO films fabricated by dc magnetron sputtering. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multifunctional magnetic materials prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition

    Författare :Sandeep Nagar; Lyuba Belova; K. Venkat Rao; Prashanth Kamath; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Magnetic materials; thin films; pulsed laser depsoition; spintronics; chromites; MgO; NEMS; MEMS;

    Sammanfattning :      Pulsed LASER deposition (PLD) is widely recognized as excellent deposition technique owing to stoichiometric transfer of target material, easy preparation and high quality. Thin films from few nanometers to micrometer regime can be fabricated with equal ease. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Invasive treatment of renal artery stenosis - effects on blood pressure, medication, renal function and inflammatory biomarkers

    Författare :Alaa Al Hadad; Lund Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; inflammatory biomarkers; renal artery stenosis; Renovascular hypertension; percutaneous transluminal renal angioplasty; mean pressure gradient;

    Sammanfattning : Renal artery stenosis (RAS) causes hypertension, decreased glomerular filteration rate (GFR), and renal ischemia. RAS is progressive and causes 5-16% of all cases of renal failure. Prevalence of RAS in patients with hypertension is 1-5%. LÄS MER
