  1. 1. Cervical screening with primary HPV : from research to clinical effectiveness

    Författare :Lovisa Bergengren; Gisela Helenius; Mats Karlsson; Matts Olovsson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cervical cancer; screening; human papillomavirus HPV ; HPV prevalence; HPV genotypes; precancerous lesion; HSIL; self-sampling; postmenopausal women; health economy;

    Sammanfattning : Organized cervical screening has greatly reduced the incidence of cervical cancer where implemented. Human papilloma virus (HPV) is the cause of cervical cancer, and in later years, convincing evidence has led to cervical screening with HPV as the primary method being implemented around the world. 2. 2. Human papillomavirus and cellular biomarkers in cervical cancer

    Författare :Malin Kaliff; Gabriella Lillsunde-Larsson; Mats G. Karlsson; Tina Dalianis; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cervical cancer; HPV; screening; triage; prognosis; genotype distribution; multiple HPV; HPV-negative; viral load; methylation;

    Sammanfattning : Cervical cancer (CC) is caused by a persistent infection of certain types of the human papillomavirus (HPV). Even though great progress has been made in strategies for prevention, and treatment of CC, there is still a need for improved methods in screening and management of women diagnosed with CC. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The ubiquity and type diversity of papillomaviruses in normal skin

    Författare :Annika Antonsson; Malmö Klinisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Microbiology; bacteriology; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi; skin phylogeny; HPV prevalence; HPV type detrmination; PCR; human papillomavirus; HPV;

    Sammanfattning : Papillomaviruses are a diverse, epitheliotropic group of viruses. Some genotypes are the main cause of anogenital cancer in humans; others can induce skin lesions. In order to investigate the occurrence of subclinical skin infections with human papillomavirus (HPV), a pair of degenerate primers (FAP59/64) was designed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Human papillomavirus infection and preterm delivery

    Författare :Johanna Wiik; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CIN; HPV; LEEP; pPROM; PROM; PTD;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection causes cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Excisional treatment of CIN has been linked to increased risk of preterm delivery (PTD). The specific mechanism behind is however unclear. Also untreated CIN has been associated with an increased risk of PTD. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Genetic susceptibility to cervical and gastric cancer

    Författare :Patrik Magnusson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; cervical cancer; gastric cancer; genetic susceptibility; familiality; heritability; HPV; Helicobacter pylori; genetic association; HLA; P53; loss of heterozygosity; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Medical Genetics; medicinsk genetik;

    Sammanfattning : Cervical and gastric cancer both to a large extent depend on infectious agents. Cervical infection with human papilloma virus increases the risk for cervical cancer substantially, and infection with the bacteria Helicobacter pylori increases the risk for gastric cancer. LÄS MER
