16. 3D Time-lapse Analysis of Seismic Reflection Data to Characterize the Reservoir at the Ketzin CO2 Storage Pilot Site
Sammanfattning : 3D time-lapse seismics, also known as 4D seismics, have great potential for monitoring the migration of CO2 at underground storage sites. This thesis focuses on time-lapse analysis of 3D seismic reflection data acquired at the Ketzin CO2 geological storage site in order to improve understanding of the reservoir and how CO2 migrates within it. 17. Inversion and Joint Inversion of Electromagnetic and Potential Field Data
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, four inversion problems of different scale and difficulty are solved. Two of them are electromagnetic inverse problems. Two more are joint inversion problems of potential field data and other types of data. LÄS MER
18. Seismic structure of the central Svecofennian lithosphere
Sammanfattning : Lithospheric structures in the Fennoscandian Shield in Sweden have been studied by a number of large-scale wide-angle seismic reflection/refraction (WARR) and normal-incidence reflection profiles since the 1960s. Among these were the over 2000 km long Fennoscandian Long Range (FENNOLORA) project in 1979 and the Baltic and Bothnian Echoes from the Lithosphere (BABEL) in 1989, which provided valuable images of the subsurface down to over 60 km depth including the Moho. 19. Inversion of Magnetotelluric Data Constrained by Borehole Logs and Reflection Seismic Sections
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents two new algorithms for doing constrained Magnetotelluric (MT) inversion based on an existing Occam 2D inversion program. The first algorithm includes borehole resistivity logs as prior information to constrain resistivity directly in the vicinity of boreholes. LÄS MER
20. Innovative seismic imaging solutions : From hardrock mineral exploration to quick-clay site characterization
Sammanfattning : Seismic methods are an efficient and powerful tool to explore the subsurface. It principally helps to gain information on the subsurface structure, bedrock topography, and the nature of the host rock. LÄS MER
