  1. 16. Molecular epidemiology of coagulase-negative staphylococci in hospitals and in the community

    Författare :Micael Widerström; Johan Wiström; Tor Monsen; Anders Sjöstedt; Bo Söderquist; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; staphylococcus epidermidis; staphylococcus saprophyticus; electrophoresis; gel; pulsed-field; genetic diversity; methicillin-resistance; UTI; drug resistance; multiple; bacterial; epidemiology; molecular; cross infection; molecular sequence data; Medical microbiology; Medicinsk mikrobiologi; Clinical bacteriology; Klinisk bakteriologi; Infectious diseases; Infektionssjukdomar; Clinical Bacteriology; klinisk bakteriologi; mikrobiologi; Microbiology; Infectious Diseases; infektionssjukdomar;

    Sammanfattning : Background Coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) and in particular Staphylococcus epidermidis have emerged as major pathogens primarily causing nosocomial infections in patients with indwelling medical devices. These infections are often caused by multidrug-resistant strains of S. epidermidis (MDRSE). LÄS MER

  2. 17. Interaction between dietary factors and genetic risk for lipoprotein traits and cardiovascular disease

    Författare :Sophie Hellstrand; Diabetes - kardiovaskulär sjukdom; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diet; polyunsaturated fatty acids; diet quality index; fatty acid desaturase; blood lipids; lipoproteins; polymorphisms; genetic risk score; gene-diet interaction; cohort; epidemiology; cardiovascular disease;

    Sammanfattning : In previous studies, a high quality diet has been associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) compared to a low diet quality, and specific “healthy” diet components, such as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), have been hypothesized to reduce the risk of CVD. However, results from epidemiological studies have been conflicting. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Amelogenesis imperfecta : an epidemiologic, genetic, morphologic and clinical study

    Författare :Birgitta Bäckman; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; amelogenesis imperfecta; enamel defect; epidemiology; genetics; microradiography; scanning electron microscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) is a genetically determined enamel defect characterized by genetic and clinical heterogeneity .The prevalence and incidence of AI were established in the county of Västerbotten, northern Sweden, in 3-19-yr-olds born 1963-79, as were the mode of inheritance and clinical manifestation of AI. 4. 19. Somatic and occupational outcomes in adult ADHD : epidemiology studies based on real-world data

    Författare :Lin Li; Henrik Larsson; Zheng Chang; Qi Chen; Mark Taylor; Argyris Stringaris; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ADHD; Comorbidities; Obesity; Dietary habits; ADHD medication; Cardiovascular disease; Epidemiology; Casual inference; Adults;

    Sammanfattning : Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders, characterized by inattention or hyperactivity–impulsivity, or both. ADHD is a multifactorial disorder influenced by the complex interplay between genetic and environmental risk factors, but a detailed understanding of the causal status of these factors is lacking. 5. 20. Haemophilus influenzae – typing, epidemiology and beta-lactam resistance

    Författare :Viktor Månsson; Malmö Klinisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; benzylpenicillin; beta-lactam resistance; beta-lactams; BLNAR; capsule typing; clonal; Haemophiilus influenzae; Hib; MALDI-TOF MS; MLST; NTHi; serotyping; virulence; epidemiology;

    Sammanfattning : Haemophilus influenzae is a common cause of respiratory tract infections such as acute otitis media (AOM), exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia. The species is subdivided into encapsulated and non-encapsulated strains, designated type a-f and nontypeable H. influenzae (NTHi), respectively. LÄS MER
