  1. 6. The Spatial Distribution of Precipitation in Scania, Southern Sweden. Observations, model simulations and statistical downscaling

    Författare :Maj-Lena Linderson; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; physical geography; Geologi; fysisk geografi; Geology; statistical downscaling; atmospheric circulation; spatial distribution; precipitation; Scania; Sweden;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focusses on the spatial distribution of precipitation within Scania and on its relation with large-scale climate. The spatial distribution of Scanian precipitation was analysed using a dense rain-gauge network of daily measurements. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Statistical Downscaling of Precipitation from Large-scale Atmospheric Circulation : Comparison of Methods and Climate Regions

    Författare :Fredrik Wetterhall; Sven Halldin; Chong-Yu Xu; Lars-Christer Lundin; Deliang Chen; Hans von Storch; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydrology; Statistical; Downscaling; Precipitation; Large-scale circulation; PCA; TWS; Weather pattern; Regression; Weather generator; Hydrologi; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : A global climate change may have large impacts on water resources on regional and global scales. General circulation models (GCMs) are the most used tools to evaluate climate-change scenarios on a global scale. They are, however, insufficiently describing the effects at the local scale. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Improved Cloud Parameterization in Global Climate Model : Aerosol effects and secondary ice production mechanisms

    Författare :Arti Jadav; MERGE: ModElling the Regional and Global Earth system; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cloud; Coud parameterization; Primary ice mechanisms; Secondary ice production; Global climate model;

    Sammanfattning : The response of clouds to the changes in climate is uncertain, and the representation of the cloud-climate feedback is a key challenge in the global circulation models (GCM) for future climate projections. Factors contributing to this uncertainty include processes that involve particles of various sizes and phases, as well as the interactions between these particles and the surrounding atmosphere. 4. 9. Modelling Hydrological and Hydrodynamic Processes in Lake Tana Basin, Ethiopia

    Författare :Shimelis Gebriye Setegn; Bijan Dargahi; Nicola Fohrer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lake Tana; Climate Change; SWAT; Hydrological Modeling; Hydrodynamic; GEMSS; MCE; Streamflow; Sediment yield; Hydrology; Hydrologi; Water engineering; Vattenteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Lake Tana Basin is of significant importance to Ethiopia concerning water resources aspects and the ecological balance of the area. The growing high demands in utilizing the high potentials of water resource of the Lake to its maximal limit, pictures a disturbing future for the Lake. LÄS MER

  5. 10. HiPIMS-based Novel Deposition Processes for Thin Films

    Författare :Asim Aijaz; Ulf Helmersson; Kostas Sarakinos; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In this research, high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) based new deposition processes are introduced to address; the issue of low degree of ionization of C in magnetron sputtering discharges, and the difficulty encountered in thin film deposition on complex-shaped surfaces. The issue of low degree of C ionization is addressed by introducing a new strategy which is based on promoting the electron impact ionization ofC by increasing the electron temperature in the plasma discharge using Ne, instead of conventionally used Ar.
